Hello there folks... I am on a quest to find out about all the Ford paint colours of the 1970's and I'd be forever in your debt if you can help me! Do any of you good people have any brochure/colour chart scans that you can share with us on here (or just list all the colours that you know of)? I am really very keen to see all of the colours that were offered on all Ford models throughout the 1970's... I have owned a number of 70's Ford's (Cortina, Capri, Granada) and the vibrancy of some of the colours (or the dullness of others!) really does fascinate me... If anyone can help that'd be truly fantastic

Most memorable from the late 60s / early 70s are Silver Fox Metallic and Fern Green Metallic - both of which had adhesion issues and tended to flake off in large chunks . . .

The safest way to cut springs is wearing converse all stars while under the influence of alcohol.

I think we still have a huge folder of colour chits, the main thing i remember about paint from that era was going back to get it tinted to the correct shade, and there being several different variations to each colour. It used to be fascinating watching them mix it up at Parkins with the different weights on the balance to get the recipe right + they used to know what each colour would do as it dried.

This is great so far guys, thanks a million (and one!)... Another reason why I am doing this is that I am keen to find out what shade of gold my 1977 Mk1 Granada is... I've been told it's Saturn Gold but I don't recall seeing that colour on any charts... Any thoughts...?!

When I saw this thread, the first colour that popped into my head was Roman Bronze.
My Dad had a Granada that colour.
Yours isn't Roman Bronze.
