What on earth is going on with eBay? I'm trying to search for Carcoon car cover listings and it keeps changing my search term to 'cartoon'. If I wanted to insert my car into Mickey-sodding-Mouse I'd have specified that with my search. Any ideas what's going on there? Mike

If you get no results at all under something it tries to spell it again. Searching titles and descriptions for it, all I got was two cars which just mention they've been kept in one.

"Your search using carcoon returned 0 results."
It's because there are no results for Carcoon, they've assumed you've made a typo.

I've not been able to search cars between 70-89 for 2 weeks and today I can't search newly listed items. The thing's fried

Ahh I see. I've never had this happen before. Every time I have searched previously there have been several for sale.
Surely it should have just come up with the usual zero results thing. Have they changed it recently or something?
eBay still needs a smack though, I reckon.

That '70-89' thing is really screwed. Daily I have a rummage by casting my tat net within 10 miles and seeing what '70-89' tat comes up. Now I have to trawl through loads of modern guff to find the juicy tit-bits

I never knew you could search by year anyway?

The age part seems to be screwed completely, no matter what age I put in I get all the results up.

Not sure you can
There are 60-70 fraudulent listing in the cars section added on a daily basis
They have introduced a bidding system that once over £100 hides bidder identities and give carte blanch to "shill bidding" activites
They have no interest in the user only the listing fees and final value fees
They make regular policy changes and frequently hidden in them is changes to fees
It always has been a place where you have to have your wits about you
but its getting mighty dodgy IMHO

Oh and the scantily clad women are back pretending to be cars - up pops a link requesting your ebay ID and password
Me thinks the scammers must be running short of ebay ID's

You want to know what is worse. The Octavia didn't sell first time relisted it word for word no edits.
I just found out this morning that they have cancelled the auction.
" The car is advertised elsewhere. I reserve the right to remove the car from Ebay if I sell through the other advert,
Listings that breach the eBay User Agreement or eBay listing policies are not permitted.
Section 5.3 of the eBay User Agreement states, "A seller who receives at least one bid at or above the stated minimum bid price (or in the case of reserve auctions, at or above the reserve price) must complete the transaction with the highest bidder on completion of the listing, unless: (a) the item is listed in a category under our Non-Binding Bid Policy; (b) the buyer fails to meet the conditions of the seller's listing (such as payment method); or (c) the seller cannot authenticate the buyer's identity." Statements contradictory to this within a listing are not permitted."
So, A, I must have gotten a bid. But what happens to all the other Auctions that pretty much cover them selves in the same way?

It's also a very crafty way of ebay getting repeat listing fees too......

Well, they did refund fees for the listing. But the thing is, it went through once, no bids. So I relisted identical and they pulled it, which suggests I had a bid. So I have relisted again with some subtle changes at the top and bottom. Surely this can't fall foul seeing as I have stated "no valid bids", and explained by it was cancelled previously.

I always put "Auction will only be ended early if the reserve price is not met" This assumes that you have a reserve... It fits their policy and I never had a complaint.
