Morning All Right a weekend of surf and egg eating resulted in little work being done I'm afraid ;D But did have yesterday off so managed to get down the workshop and do a bit. Head lights now work and so do the indicators after a bit of tea drinking with my mate Rob and some head scratching looking at wiring diagrams Sill waiting for the new front bumber to turn up so i can put the front back together though, Car was running nice but then decided to not and sound like curse word and blow loads of smoke out the back and not rev Took the carbs off again checked the float levels and everything was ok, put them back on and still the same then all of a sudden it pop'd and now runs like a dream ?? something must have been blocked ? mystery to me but now it sounds awesome and idles nice @ 600 rpm and rev's freely so I'm not gonna worry to much, hopefully the post man will trun up today with a bumper

the list is now getting shorter Front wheels off and up in the air for the last little bit of welding on the front inner wings I wasn't happy with how the front wheels sat so got some spacers and then machined out the back to fit the hubs, Finally got the front arch's on after deliberating weather or not to fit them, but with the wheels kicked out a bit with the spacers it works allot better. Finished trimming the rear shock towers and put a bit of carpet in the luggare area, I'm happy with it for now and worked out allot cheaper than the 350 quid to buy some, Also tided up all the wiring on the front and got both the front old Bosch horns working with a bit of WD40 and a well aimed tap with the hammer, I didn't have a interior light managed to find one from the states brand new NOS for £25 delivered fitted it and it all worked and even managed to find the wiring for the door switch No happy with the paint but its on there and in some places allot of it with run's and stuff, I'm thinking of just flatting it all back for now and then maybe mop it and blow some bits in or leave it or even maybe thinking of a colour change, Still no bumper but if it turns up this week I might be booking that MOT ;D

Busy couple O days on the old Datsun, Took it for a test spin Pre MOT and was all good for the first mile or so, until the front brakes started to bind, got out to have a fell and they were on the warm side, Up on axle stands, front brakes were quite hot then remembered the new front flex's that were on the shelf ! not on the car Thought I had changed them a few weeks ago but not, Old ones looked ok but had collapsed, A look at the back and noticed that the rear brake bracket for the flex was a bit close to the calliper at full travel so..... drilled the spot welds out and relocated the it further up and used some golf flexi's sorted, but then started poking and found another hole , i55.photobucket.com/albums/g158/atomman1/datsun/IMG_1069_zpsaa8422eb.jpg [/img] cut it out and graft in a panel bit of shultz Then big day today MOT time but good news it Passed ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D just the handbrake was a bit down on one side and that was it ;D

Love the look of this car, it's such a gorgeous shape anyway, and the lows and wheel arches really do make it look even better. And congrats on the MOT ;D

Cheers dudes Bit of modifying the rear arch's again today, was rubbing a bit on big bumps so cut out another 30mm and moved the bolt on arch's up, then took it out for a nice run around the Gower ending at an ice cream shop ;D still waiting on the new front bumper though so excuse the curse word one fitted now

Awesome! How have I never seen or heard of the mk1 Golf? Wherebouts in Swansea are you from bud? Love the S30, hope to have a nose, has Jules badgered you into getting on the stand at Singleton?

I spent most of the winter doing the engine change on the golf and then i sold it to pay for the datsun so didn't get to drive it much,
your welcome to have a nose anytime dude
Yep Jules filled out the from before i had even got close to getting it MOT lol

Front bumper finally came on Saturday and managed to get it fitted up and put the US spec indicators on, cheers hybris i think it looks so much better, Been driving it the past few days to work ;D ;D springs arnt to hard and handles pretty nice and stops well to, But it was quite tail happy in the rain yesterday thou

Went for lunch yesterday up towards Carmathen for a mates birthday so gave him a ride, Was quite a spirited drive along some lovely welsh A roads ;D But the conclusion was that the rear springs were to soft, I had ordered some stiffer ones a few weeks ago as i though they might be on the soft side, So today i have been playing around with the rear suspension, Ended up a bit close on the back thou after fitting some 30mm spacers to kick the back out a bit and get a better offset, so the load on the bearings is more even. But the beauty of spending all that time converting th struts to coil overs ment a quick adjustment 5 mm up and its all good again Been playing around with some yellow headlight film and some insulting tape to I'm thinking front mounted oil cooler next ?

Morning all been a while so heres an update. been driving it alot recently and enjoying it mucked about with the height and got it sitting right now, changed the exhuast becuase I kept scraping the middle box everywhere so had deleted it and changed the back box to a turbo muffler, and also converted the front to pug 505 vented disc's and bgger toyota 4 pots to help with raek fade, Heres some pic's all the bits for the brake conversion, the disc's needed machining out on the bore and some more holes drilling for mounting to the dastun hub, also needed to make a spacer to move them back a bit ti line up in the middle of the calliper. here is is all bolted up might cross dill thge disc's to if i get then change now to the exhaust here'e the old one, bit of surface rust but solid, back box was a bit rattlely and full of rust, so cut out the middle box and replaced it with 50mm pipe and put this back on sounds a bit louder but not to much and only make noise when you really put your foot down
