I used to find towing pretty stressful but towing with a 4x4 is a whole different ball game. You can chill and take it easy unlike towing with a car where you're waiting for the trailer to start snaking and chuck you off the road. Ruts in the road such as on the A1 used to make for very scary towing. This is my tow bus now... My secret weapon at home for loading those tricky, non running ones is this. Not so good if you want to car to remain undamaged mind...

Jeepers!
Seth, thing is most weekends used to be like this when I was younger. Except we'd have a winch. Usually. Someone was always buying or selling something and we'd always be in for the action.

Don't have time to have a job The JCB is ace but has some kind of major breakdown with every couple of hours of use. It's a proper old pice of sh!te and I hate it (but it's great for being really destructive though) Steering has packed in at the moment The truck is a J import Terrano R3M with a 2.7 turbo diesel. Loads nicer looking that ther poncey UK Terranos IMO.

. . . . . . . . . This was about the point I purt my hand in some dog doo (for the first time...) . . . . . . . . Anyone remember to bring a hub puller to get it off with? Thought not . . . . . So we got it rolling eventually and hoped we could push it onto the trailer. So we thought if we lined it up and pushed it right across the yard, and took a good run up we might just be able to... Blimey. How big was that dog poo? Mike

Having never met you (to my knowledge) I do have a mental image of you but I am finding it hard to put it into words....

I dread to think, but have to ask...
What would that be then?
I might even share some of the descriptions of me Ihave heard from people who have met me...

Nothing sinister, but I guess a mixture of a pleasant, helpful & youthful goth, "American Car Owner", "Broken car collector" and dare I say, perhaps an element of future Raymanboy Mr Bo11ox is so much better at owner stereotypes than me (Now I'm afraid for a similar response on me! )

Blimey. How big was that dog poo? TBH there were hundreds of poos round that place. Seems to be where everyone takes their dog to answer its defacatory urges.

(Now I'm afraid for a similar response on me! ) You seem like a charming fellow to me. I have been variously described as: "Nick Cave's long lost twin" "A kind of gothic James Bond, but without a gun" "Bryan Ferry meets Dracula" "Iggy Pop's lovechild" And I have also been told I look like Rob Newman when I have/had long hair and Gary Numan when I had short hair! I even had (have?) a jacket just like that... Hmmm...

All that hassle getting it shifted too and then back up for sale the next day Maybe it's a sign you should buy it back and insert a V8 in it? ;D

Actually, you should buy it back and turn up with no mates and a really shonky trailer being towed by a Suzuki Whizzkid.

Instead of assessing the situation at an early point and giving up... You just can't be beaten can you? Legend. ;D

Been there after a fashion - but on my own, with my own car and trailer - luckily ever-helpful neighbour came to rescue by unhooking a block and tackle from his engine hoist

Whats not funnys is that it will probably sell on eBay for most of the price of what I sold the car and two transit van loads worth of parts to him for. But then with no engine and no log book (still here in and my name) I can;t see it being the best slling car on the bay.
The reason I sold it him not eBaying it myself was that I know the guy, he's an enthusiast, he was going to "do" the car right and although it looks ropey, its a never welded all-straight shell (how rare is that with an FD?) all it needs is the inner wings welding and the rear valance replacing - then the rest is just a set of doors and front wings and litterally thats it on the body. All good. I also wanted to save myself the grief of some numptiy turning up with inappropriate recovery equipment.
And yeah, the parts I sold him include 2x NOS wings, inner wing repair sections, good second hand doors, etc...
Nutz.
Me and the lad who picked it up did joke that I'd buy it back if it was running and tested...
So lets see, rob the best bits off it and bang it on eBay... I coulda done that...
