Toyota Previa 1996/P Leics £350
143,000 miles
New engine fitted in 2006 @ 80,000 miles by API engines
Tax until end of June 2013
MoT until June 21st 2013
2.4 litre (like a Ferrari Dino)
Mid-engined (like a Ferrari Dino)
RWD (like a Ferrari Dino)
4 speed auto with overdrive
Electric windows
2 x Sunroofs - First sunroof above driver is a manual job, the other, much larger sunroof above the centre passengers is electric, and still working.
UK car, not a Japanese import.
Stamped service history up to 105,913 miles, after that normal oil and filter changes, brake pads etc done by myself.
Legal tints from passenger windows back (80% tint, still have original invoice for tints).
In-car DVD player for centre and rear passengers, works via the stereo in the centre console.
7 seat version - 2 up front, 2 in the centre (Captains seats), 3 in the rear, large boot even with all seats down, and with the rearmost seats up the space available is massive. We've used this car for long trips on holiday to the continent, for short trips to the local tip, to collect Christmas trees, furniture, etc.
Things that were noted on the last (current) MoT;
Catalytic converter baffles are rattling, most noticeable when in gear and stationary. Goes away when the gearbox is in 'N' or 'P', I.e. when no torque is being sent to the transmission. Also not noticeable when driving. Despite this, the emissions have not been affected, the car passed the MoT with these issues noted as an advisory. (I have the emissions sheet for the current MoT).
Front tyres are 'close to the legal limit', but will provide a replacement tyre (1 only) for the new buyer. The tyre closest to the limit is the front passenger side.
Brake hoses slight deteriorated, but not in need of replacement at the time of the MoT. The car had new front pads in August 2012, and the car brakes efficiently and in a straight line.
Parking brake efficiency was low at the time of the MoT, this was a matter of adjusting the ratchet on the handbrake lever.
Perfect for someone decorating their house who needs a tip-mobile at the weekend, and a family-mobile during the week, capable of running for a few more years at minimum cost. It's for sale due to a downsizing of this car to a Volvo S70. (see below...)
Car is in Leicester, about 5 mins from Junction 21a of the M1, also just off the A46.
P/X???Possibly! I already have a replacement Volvo S70, but I think I may have downsized *too* much. Would consider Volvo V70/S80, Mercedes E Class, etc, probably with cash your way.
Price;I have priced the car at £350, to take into account the scrap value of the car (£250, it's a heavy old bus!), the approximate value of the tax at £50, and the value of the in-car DVD player at £50, both of which I would obviously remove before scrapping, but I hope it doesn't come to that.
Viewings during the week by mutual agreement (I work from home). Thanks for looking, I hope to sell the car via the various forums I am a member of before the need for it to go to Ebay / Scrapyard. Realistically this car will probably go to someone who will run it for another few months until the Tax and MoT run out, at which time they will get £250 for it from a scrapyard, and sell the DVD player separately. That makes it a £50 car...
