Hi all, I've been looking at getting a honda 90 cub or something similar for a while but just wondering about insurance.
I had some bikes a few years ago, but will have no no claims for them any more. I do have over 10 years no claims with my car insurance, so was wondering if any insurers would take them towards a new bike policy? I'm with Adrian Flux, but when I looked at quotes from them online, the quotes were coming from other compaines.
The quotes I got were less than £200 but that still seems a bit steep for something so small and cheap.

Flux is a broker, just like many of the "specialists".
NCB is usually earned by the policy holder on one vehicle and transfers to another single vehicle of the same type on renewal. Some companies may offer some kind of discount as a good will gesture to get your business, but be wary of transferring NCB from car to bike, you might not be able to transfer it back!

I use Carole Nash, they seem very reasonable and include breakdown (which has come in handy)
give them a try.
just had a look on the c90 forum and they suggest Sky or TR Youngs.

Co-op transferred my 9 years no claims bike insurance over to my car giving me 50% ncb. Mite be able to use it the other way round.

Have you tried one of the comparison sites? Bikeinsurer.com is one I think. Also Bennetts were good for me (but then I do have a squibillion years no claims ;D)

I've been offered a cheap suzuki van van now. Finding quotes was tricky for that as lots of place's thought it should be and 80's version, not 2003.
Anyway, Carole Nash weren't interested as it was too modern. Bikesure was fairly good. But the best turned out to be Adrian Flux. Which is good as that's who I'm with for my car insurance. Once I get the bike policy set up, then they will put my B3 onto a classic policy. So, by buying a bike I'm getting cheaper insurance for both put together, than if I just carried on with my old policy. So pretty happy with that outcome.

The Van Van is a funky little bike, I rode one a while back. Not fast by any means but that's not the point with one, shares a lot of the components found on the GN/GS/DR 125's so parts aren't a problem. Enjoy & ride safe.

. Not fast by any means but that's not the point with one Thats an understatement, painfully slow and lacking enough power to tackle any sort of off road work despite its looks, is a bit more accurate,,,
