For sale again! a BRG 1996 rover vitesse sport, good condition for age has a few bubbles on the arches nothing major. It could do with the rear pads changing which are included in the sale with a haynes manual. Some of you might remember It being on before and then I changed my mind, well I now have an extremely sorry looking 1971 scimitar sat on my drive and I need funds to sort her out. I would like £650 for it or as close to that as possible i'm losing money on what I paid but i'm realistic and want to shift it before the tax runs out. Ive put it on here and on ebay hoping some like minded person will buy it. so thats it, any offers will be considered just pm me. Mileage : 114,028 MOT : July 30th 2013 Tax 31st January 2013 Cheers everyone Anthony.

Thanks fellas, you'd think at this price it would be gone quick but it's gone back to ebay for a second week without so much as a viewing?? I guess everyone's feeling the pinch but this car is worth every penny, where else do you get so much bang for your buck? Couple that with electric everything, air con, comfort and the lovely factory recaro's it seems such a bargin. Oh well just keep waiting for that lucky guy who has a bit of cash to come and drive the old girl away....soon I hope, the scimi needs a lot of work. and as we all know work=money!!

Don't like stretched tyres, very low profile tyres & I think a car CAN be too low. Perhaps I'm odd.

It is a lot of car for the money I agree. The thing is though, they just aren't worth much. A quick look around reveals several more for sale, including the (usually more valuable) coupe' for similar, and much cheaper, prices. Some are a bit rough though.
These are still in 'old banger' territory, and will be for some time yet. Too old for most normal car buyers and too new to be considered a 'classic car' by most. All Rovers in general suffer from low prices unless they are pre-circa early 1960's.

Oh well just keep waiting for that lucky guy who has a bit of cash to come and drive the old girl away....soon I hope, the scimi needs a lot of work. and as we all know work=money!! I know the feeling of having your pride and joy for sale with not so much as a "hello" in months of trying to sell it! A few years back when I had my Saab for sale it was a prime example of a well cared for car, clean as, uber reliable, all the extras ect but just couldn't shift the thing even tho I had it up for sale for half the price I paid for it (and I paid a fair price really) I put it all down to the following: As MartinC states the age, too old but too new (if that makes sesnse??) Which as most of the people in that catagory are looking for something to just run about in, and their usually looking for something which has above average mpg and a cheap insurance group. The fact probably that in general the Rover brand doesn't command the money in the second hand market and have a generally less than great reputation (rightly or wrongly so!) doesn't help. The youth of today seem to go German or even cheaper French/Italian and if its a Rover its probably going to be an MG for them! As I say i know the pain, because iv'e been there! 2.0 Turbo, around the same bhp with TnT (slightly younger car age) and yet couldn't even get someone to view it (irionically the first person who did snapped it up) I'd say (now for the positive bit) If you can get it on a specialist forum aswell, as most of the poeple here would agree, it's a fantastic looking car and clear (as I think you've had it up for sale before??) your very much proud of the thing! Don't give it away, even if you have to stick another 6 months tax on because someone eventually will surely see it and go "yeh......thats nice....lets have a look!" and see how it goes from there! (although even with 6 months tax you'd probably only still get the 650) If however your in a rush and would rather get rid of it sooner, possibly lower the price to say if I was you (around 525) that way basically including the next tax). Its hard, and iv'e just reliased how much ive rabbited on here but unfortunatly with the way fuel/insurance/tax its a waiting game for the right buyer (uness you lower it like I did and as you see it drive off for a bargain price!!!!!) Thanks for the comments guys, to be honest I think i would except £525, like I said I need the money to sink into the scimi project, I've advertised it at £650 so it gives some room for haggling and the like, no one pays what the cars up for anymore...do they?
All the best lads mention it to your friends lol!

What make and condition tyres has it got on it? What in the way of bills/service history do you have for it? And what's the ownership like? I am interested, but I really can't justify spending £600 on another car! The mrs would do her nut!

I am interested, but I really can't justify spending £600 on another car! The mrs would do her nut! The rears are close to the limit in my opinion, all four are continentals, it has some stamps in the service book but not a lot of history it did have a headgasket and cambelt change when I bought it but no paperwork to back it up, the guy showed me the old cambelt and the engine does look well looked after so i've no reason to doubt him. It's had 8 owners including me. I've had a bit of interested today and someone from this site has offered me an amount but hasn't got back to me yet. If you fancy it make me an offer. First come first served and all that. Cheers

I wouldn't be able to offer much. I've just spent £800 on new tyres for my Jag road tax this month, too! If he offers less than £400, give me a shout. Best of luck with the sale. Hope you get plenty for it!
