Sorry, I just watched it and I still think its curse word. Clarkson has always been a cock but they must have tried really hard to find two co-presenters equally as annoying. What was all that plums about road works? Why cant one of the channels make a car program with ordinary (non smug) people that actually tells you a bit about cars? Because it would be like TG was in the 1980's...William Woolard, Chris Goffey and Michelle Newman droning on about global warming, parking sensors and cup-holders. I'd sooner put my face in a lawnmower than watch that. Let's face it- mainstream modern cars are boring, any motoring programme which was about them would be about as stimulating as watching grass grow. The only entertaining cars being made now are supercars, and even an hour of those would ultimately prove just as boring. I'd love to see them test some of 'our' sort of cars, but ultimately it's all about viewing figures.....if they did that then TG would be banished to being shown at 3am on BBC237 Digital or something.

Hmm....just watched it and same deal, believing their own press too much. Didn't laugh much, if at all, didn't find the features interesting, their usual 'comedy' excerpt (tamacin') was just plain boring and well, it seemed like vapour really. Just no substance to it anymore! Oh well, shan't put myself out of the way to watch it

look, it isn't journalism. It's 3 blokes sitting in the pub dinking and having a giggle. Bloke one: We should see if we can race three sh1tters to Prague, not get caught and film it. Bloke two: Yeah, but what kind sh1tters? Bloke three: Don't know, but it won't happen if we can't get it funded. And then the license fee came to the rescue. Come on, we would all about with motors all day if we got the chance and got paid for it. Especially if we knew that we could stand up afterwards and spout nads about it, and have people hanging on my ever word.

couldnt help thinking jamie Oliver has been eating too much of his own cooking..... At the risk of the pot calling the kettle black (I like to stay in shape...this week's shape is a fat ba5tard) I couldn't help noticing that too. Nice bit of driving though!

Honest reaction was disappointment. Too much farting around on that roadworks stuff Jamie O. I used to work live with a DJ/presenter that found his own drawn out 'jokes' funny. it was embarrassing and cringey to be there when we showed a live audience, our non funny tomfoolery, although parcel taping someone in a phone box was hillarious! ;D oops Clarkson show was ok cos thats what it was, maybe its time to get that back too. Anyway Poor hammond really wanted to under play the whole dragster thing. it was amazing, he enjoyed it and managed to keep his life, he knows thats a miracle but he's not bothered about applause he's happy with his life and brain back in order. TOP MAN! bizzare when he said 'i feel really alive' before the last run! creepy! Overall not bad I suppose but they have done a lot better. i'll keep watching theres nowt else.

It was generally a little weak but then after the Hamster-crash, it was always going to feel a bit odd. I found myself just looking at him thinking "you lucky barsteward" and for once not just because of all the female attention he gets!

Watching the crash, that front right looked rough on the 2nd run I thought Oh the joy of Tivo! Yes, in the second run, the front right is just bubbling a little bit, on the inside in the same place where it started to delaminate just before it blows itself to bits on the third run No doubt Health and Saftey have already pulled much better quality footage to bits with much more high tech kit Graham

My GF watches TG and enjoys it. I'd say that means it has broad appeal which in turns means they have achieved their goal. If you want to learn about cars go read a book... this is purely there for entertainment. Like it or not car enthusiasts are a minority and as such we are lucky to be catered for at all, especially in todays politically correct, tree hugging society.
Clarkson's Jade Goody comment made me laugh. Can't imagine man-woman-thing VBH coming out with something like that on 5th gear.

Looks like they are blaming hammond. interesting stuff. I would of thought they would of checked and checked the car over maybe they did. Accidents can happen to anyone though. some people cope with em and some people have no choice wheter they cope or not. I know i'd probably cr@p meself seeing that @288mph. Just goes to show clarksons wrong to step on brakes. obvious really. uk.news.yahoo.com/29012007/344/car-owner-blames-hammond-crash.html

The thing was drifting out of control before Hammond slammed on the anchors. What an idiot. Looks like a major case of ar5e covering to me!!

Its much more a "popular culture" show than it is a car show. I haven't watched it in years, mainly because every time I see Clarkson for more than 4.32 seconds I get the urge to punch his lights out.

Well I really enjoyed it! Yes, the roadworks thing was daft and set up, as all of those little comedy things are, but we all know this and I think it should be viewed as such. I don't think they make it thinking that they're going to pull the wool over anyones eyes.
And I'd MUCH rather watch sportscars being flung sideways around a circuit than a bootspace comparison between the Kia Trajic and Chevrowoo Pavlova.
And it's great to see Hammond back. Really shocking to see the film of it...

I enjoy top gear, it's just a laugh, I'd love to thier job.
One of the strangest parts of the crash video was when Hamond was having his arms strapped in and he said "I don't want to go upside down"
Anyone think he's looking about 10 years older since the crash? Not bloody surprising really
