again to repeat ... the mx5 engines are cracking 1800 is probably the one to go for just because they aren't much more expensive.
Here's an idea bag yourself a 1.8GT 323f (early shape popuplights without a cat) they are 140hp standard and will bolt up to an mx5 box AND they are dirt cheap :-) I've had 2 engines for <£100 and they came with the rest of the car haha it's seriously cheap for the hp. indestructable and really revvy.
