Living quite near me there’s this fantastically unkempt old man that quite a few of us could turn into if we didn’t have other people in our lives to keep us in check. He lives in a house so overgrown that for some years I didn’t even know it was there. It looks derelict – roof partly falling in, cardboard at many of the windows, a variety of cars rotting away covered with bushes. I think they’re stashed in the woods round the back of his house, and someone local told me he has loads of parts for really old stuff too, but it’s not wise to explore as he’s installed his own security measures....... You sure it's not Tony Martin - he of the shooting a gypsy burglar fame? One of the pictures of his farm/lair had a dead Rover P6 in bushes and other wibblepoo peeking out here and there. Most traditional rural folk use shotguns as security measures, no need to worry about batteries and wiring things correctly. In reply to the thread title , NO!, probably not even the man himself. |
