You did well with the windscreen trim, those corner pieces gave the game away for me - same as Monza and the std pieces need to be fitted in the rubber before the screen goes in and it's a proper PITA job.
Sunroof must be same mechanism as Monza too and I think I have some instruction for alignment and adjustments if you need it?

I'm about ready to weld a plate over the roof. |

Bolt the seats in, do that brake hose & ball joint rubber, check all the fluids, bleed the brakes, MoT in the morning. What can possibly go wrong. Done, done (Phil actually ended up making 2 new hardlines), done, done aaaand done  Also sorted the effing sunroof out! Took it all back apart, and removed it completely. Seized situation was resolved by use of a rubber mallet.   Greased it all up and had a long hard look at how the mechanism actually works, then put it back in. It still involved sliding and winding it back & forward a few times, but we sussed it. The 'closed' position, and when it switches from slide to tilt, is actually determined by the how far through its total travel the windy handle is in relation to the position of the sunroof panel. For example, if the handle is turned round & round towards 'slide open' as far as it would go, and the panel set to slid fully open, then you put everything together to connect the two, you have to get it absolutely perfect - otherwise this happens..  Then you have to take it all apart, reset the starting positions, and go again..  Bingo!  You can see the damage done to the paint in that picture tho  Seats look awesome! Also modified & fitted the centre console & gaiter.  A check of the list..  ..and I think, for now, we're there.  Time to take it for an MoT.  Nice to get to actually drive it! Everything seems to work, motor pulls nice & strong, no rocketship but torquey enough. Starts, stops and steers - tracking or something is waaay out, so it's pretty comedy to drive. I'm also not used to tyre sidewalls or suspension with actual travel.  10am tomorrow. I'll let you know how it gets on; better than last time I hope, HA! |

Still reckon you should make it into a HDT VB commodore clone  throw in a 304 and you'd be laughing. <===== (This comment surprises me, because I love efficient engines, and an old school V8 on carb is anything but..) |

BUM indeed...! I'm sure this can be rectified pretty damn quickly and compared to the other hurdles you've jumped to get this car on the road this is 'but a scratch'...!!!

(in the end) A replacement fuel pump got it running - there was already a (new) filter bstardchild, but it's now pretty clogged apparently. Will replace that too and hope it's taken the worst of it out. Re-test in the morning. Then 2 evenings of bits & bobs on the 'reserve list'.. Then BILLING  |
