My Fiat 126 was finished at last this summer. Attended my first show it was great fun. The car was taken off the road beginning of December, Sorn. I use my Skoda for shopping and a bike for work :-) Fast forward to Christmas day. The car was stolen from a private car park behind my house. door forced open with something, steering smashed. Then the car was pushed into a local pond. PLEASE NO MORE, I would kill them type posts. Sadly Police are not interested [glow=red,2,300]So now the resurrection begins[/glow]Day one. Take a deep breath and have a look. :-) Day 2 A little more relaxed:- Removed dip stick. Big mistake, now depressed again. Left it draining and removed all the interior. The seats are vinyl so I hope they will be fine (now stored in boiler room at work). Carpets will be washed (industrial washing machine. WD 40 sprayed everywhere and Cat litter spread all around to soak up damp. Day 3 Looked at steering column, started swearing. went back indoors. Day 4, Asked myself, why is the brake fluid level so high? Oh no, surely not

Your poor little car :-(
Glad you've got it back and you're on with repairing it. How do you get it out the pond? Did they pick it up by the roof with a strap hence the damaged gutters?

I thought the gutter damage was when scrote tried entry ??
aside from any woes you are having (and i'm sure you're having many!!) everyone on this forum I'm certain is giving you massive respect for not simply scrapping this. It was a beaut and will be again
good luck

It must have been heart-breaking to find it in that condition so soon after completing it. Obviously destroyed by those who have no skills to create anything in this life. Best of luck with resurrecting that little beauty. BTW I remember a feature in the old Jalopy magazine where a car had been recovered from a river and the guy left a spacer heater blowing into it to dry it out. With this weather, you've little chance of a really good dry out.

Really gutted for you! and much respect for not letting them beat you.
I'd take the plugs out of the engine and spin it over on the starter or by hand and the compression should blast the water out the cylinders and drain the oil, put fresh in (cheap stuff that you can get from asda) turn it over again to get the oil pressure built up and drain it again...and repeat etc. You will have to do the petrol tank aswell I bet.
What complete bastards some people are, only blessing is that at least it suffered no major structural damage...
Look forward to seeing you progress with this.

Great to see you're trying to get the Fiat back to life. Keep on gritting your teeth; I'll be well worth it in the end I'm sure.

Really sorry to read about this. I thought that i felt bad when i sold my newly restored Morris Minor to a bloke who then told me he only wanted the roof!! , this would make me resort to murder though. Best of luck with it.

This is heartbreaking, yet inspiring to see you're going to see it right.

Really gutted for you that you should be the victim of an attack of jealousy.
Hats off to you for not giving in (why should the small minded make you do so?!) and cracking on with things.
I look forward to seeing your progress and your car returning to our roads :-).

What on earth! Some animals are just wrong. Hope it doesn't take too long to dry out and get it clean again. I've had a couple of cars that ended up in water in the floods a few years back and they lived again. Its just the silt/dirt that gets left behind that ends up everywhere!

I would get little Dunk started as soon as, get her up to running temp to drive out any moisture in the engine, do a couple of flushes of the engine and box/ final drive!
