My mate Martin and his wife Amanda invited me to this show, which I had planned on inviting them to as well as Nicola is in Turkey for 10 days.
Sunday morning at 05.00 Harley came in to wake me, and by 05.30 I was up, out the house by about 06.15 to go run through a boot fair before meeting Martin and Amanda at the Esso Services on the A2 at 08.00 sharp.
Bootfair was great, I popped into McD's for a large coffee before hitting the road with the Redneck Express.
Being exhibitors, we got free entry to the show and the Steam Museum.
Due to the sheer volume of American cars and trucks, I have decided to post up mostly just the trucks.
Hope you like.
At bootfair early morning......
Followed by Martin in his '65 Blue n Red Oxide truck.
Got to the show grounds early, at about 09.00 and parked up. First truck we saw...... Blue and Red Oxide, could be brothers from different mothers?
Years ago when I lived in Cape Town, I nearly bought one of these on a coutry trip I used to do, price at the time was around £200 or $300 and it was very complete.
Maybe one of my favourite commercials on the day.
Mate Martin, always smiling. I love his Ace Cafe T-shirt.
This truck really got my attention as well. Just seemed so together.
Now this creation got so much attention.
And he knows it too.
Take note, the rider is still seated on the trike.
Rambler.
There were quite a few moderns as well. (and for some reason there was a Mercedes Benz in there, and a few other Brit cars with American drive trains)
These used to be my dream trucks..... of course in the end I bought a newer truck, but still love these, original or restored.
1967 UK Bedford. Lovely resto, and very rare these days.
A few big trucks outside the arena.
And a Brit car, especially for Ta2Don.
I really do like these small trucks.
This one has a 2.2 liter engine, manual gearbox.
No idea what they are like to live with in the real world.
Texted a pic to my daughter and got a big fat "WANT!!" back.
Ford Anglia van.
Blue and Red Oxide Moonshiner pulled over by the short arm of the law..... he squealed like a pig when the rubber gloves came out.
Martins truck.
On the way home I stopped at another friends place to collect some stuff and drop of some stuff.
I now want a ride on tractor too.
Hope you enjoyed.
