I'm not big into BMW's but I think the e28 is one of the best-looking 3-box saloons of all time. it just looks 'right'.

Unless your Escort was a MkI or MkII of some sort, I would say that is one of the best swaps I've heard about in ages!

My old 518i: It was a lovely car - very tidy, all its original dealer stickers (including the running in one on the windscreen) and very smooth, even with the little M10. Wish I hadn't sold it.

I have had a fair few over the years........... m535i with manual box, lsd and leather. I also had a red 520i pov spec, a 518i LUX red, a 528SE in white, and a couple of others, all of them were great. I would have another one i n a heart. I always thought about the 750i engine swap - it would fit quite well.

I've been looking at E28s all week... I hear bad things about how much they like to rust though The other option is an E34 Touring, which looks less retro but is probably the better driving, more sensible daily. Decisions decisions! ^ Love the custom estates, but I'm also loving the look of that single headlight look - that has some serious potential IMO Look, then think ''thats mine'' grin like a Cheshire cat, and start over again That's how you know you've chosen right

Had an e28 2.8 auto for free back in about 99/2000, great car only a snapped auto selector cable made the owner panic thinking it was the autobox at fault. Drove it about for a bit but owning about 7 cars at the time and chopping and changing insurances made me think i did't need it. Got an e34 touring a few years later but it was an awful thing and no patch on the e28,slow,heavy on fuel but I will say very solid feeling. Still got my e36 cab which will never be sold, too many good memories plus what can i replace it with for the £1500 its probably worth?
