As the 4L60E auto box in my van has died, I'm thinking of breaking my van as I haven't really got the time or money to get it rebuilt or rebuild it myself. So if there is any interest in the parts, get your orders in now. Rough idea of what's there and prices: 4.3 V6 engine, runs perfectly, burns no oil etc. - £250 Captains chairs - 2 swivel and 2 don't. £75 for each swiveler, £50 each for the other two. Bumpers - £50 each Mirrors - £25 for the pair Wheels with good tyres - £100 Sidesteps (removed by me as I don't like them) - £80 It's also got a brand new screen which cost me £250 (and another £80 or so to get it fitted). I'd take £100 for this, but I've got no way of removing it...! All prices are negotiable, and it's a complete running van, so there's loads of trim, buttons, brakes, propshaft etc. etc. Quite literally the only thing wrong with it is that the tranny slips in first, second is sometimes there, 3rd is ok and if you can get it up to speed, it drops out of 4th (OD) unless your foot is on the gas... I'm also open to offers on the whole thing, it's MOTd until late July and taxed until the end of this year (or at least it is for a few more days until I cash it back in!). Details on it are in my thread here: retrorides.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=readersrides&action=display&thread=132231&page=1

Are the headlights 6"x4" and in UK spec beam? (i.e. not LHD beam) If they are and they are H4 (dip and high beam) I'll be very interested in knowing how much you want for a pair complete with the mounts, brackets, adjusters etc...basically everything needed to mount and adjust them? Many thanks.

Bruce, the headlights are sealed beam units, one pair used for dipped beams and the other used for main. I can only assume they dip correctly as they passed the MOT ok and I don't get flashed by other drivers at night. As they are sealed units, I guess they are not what you're after? I'll also check on the measurements!
Brat-Man - I'll see how the grill emblem comes off (although may have another spare on my spare Blazer grill, I'll check!) and get back to you!
Cheers, Martin

Many thanks Martin.
I thought that might be the case. If they are 6"x4" I'll be very interested to know a price for all the bracketry/mounts for a pair...possibly even a pair of the light units themselves too, to use for mocking up purposes?
Sorry to hear you're breaking it. I was admiring it at the Gathering, it's a cool looking van!

Yeah, I'm a bit gutted to be breaking it as I've wanted one for years. But hey, there's plenty of others out there and many of them have V8s Will get back to you tomorrow evening when I drag it back into the garage!

Surely it's worth fixing? The swivelling captains chairs alone have more awesome than most whole cars in here!
Oooo would the swivel seats fit a Rascal? If so, please ignore the bone and break it ;-)

It would be worth it, but I want to put my resources into my bike and my Blazer!
I'm getting a fair bit of interest, so it's 99% certain to be broken now!
Cheers, Martin
