I agree. This was the golden age of touring cars. I remember having difficulty deciding who to support. I loved the Listerine Beemers but being Scottish I wanted to support Cleland and Leslie! Thinking back there were a few cracking races then. From what I've seen Plato is the only driver who still regularly drives like they did then! Does anyone remember Audi's touring car ad when they were forced out? The one with the milkfloat?

Christ, i was only 12 at the time but i remember the season vaguely but after watching that video i remember that race, absolutely awesome It was such a good era for touring cars, haven't followed it over the last few years but i gather its still exciting. Its also worth a mention that it sounds sooo good with murray walker commentating, pure legend

20 years ago!?! Crikey, the 1992 finale made my dad say 'Son, wanna go next year?'.
So we did. There was a proper buzz about the racing back then, you felt it when you were there, and it translated well to TV, authough most of that was due to Murray Walker. The sound was awesome, the racing was, all things considered, some of the closest, most entertaining racing of any race series ever. Back in those days it was easy to wander around the pits with a programme and get it full of the drivers autographs, but they soon tightened up on it (tho that didnt stop dad going 'for a closer look') The last few years seemed to be quite naff from what I saw of it, but the 2012 season seemed to be getting back on form. In the '90's it was all about rubbing door handles and loosing wing mirrors and the battles would last for laps, Plato just does silly things and tries to pass the blame.
