Some novel and brilliant ideas coming on here Think I may have got my cover sorted. Malc my MOT man as said I can borrow his unit on the side of the garage May have to have it outside on the odd occasion if someone needs a panel straightening out, But thats nay bother.
composimmonite I'm sure they still do have some wax type covering on new cars Drive past the Merc - Vw dealers in Brum from time to time, and the newly delivered motors have this ''covering'' may have to pull up and have a close look!

freddies To be fair those temporary garages don't look too bad, and for the price - cost of 3 car covers :-P I know which one I'd go for, bummer is if I blew £250 this close to xmas, her indoors would possibly do a Nora Batty on me

Just as an idea, has anyone thought about coating the paint in something? New cars used to sometimes come from factory covered in thin layer of wax. I suspect it was mass produced models which were stored outside. They had to be steam cleaned to remove the layer before getting polished etc and delivery to customer. This was in at least 60's & 70's. Paul H Commercials still need de-waxing before you can sign them up when they are new so its still being used on them now. Absolutely no idea what it is though...

bit random but I was watching Dragons Den other day and a quirky couple from Yorkshire had a caravan cover company set up, maybe called protech or something similar, the waterproof membrane they used looked the biz

wax and a drive every so often to remove standing water is what mine got before I got a garage. I also park on dirt rather than tarmac where possible as water drains away through dirt but not through tarmac.
