Think I'm going to have to have a clear out, so decided to see if anyone wants this. 2.0 16v Coupe in Red/Pink. 149000 miles MOT March 2013 No tax. Bad. Drives well, although has clunks from the front suspension, and can wander a bit over ruts in the road. Bit rattly from the top end, but burns no oil and doesn't smoke. Bit of an oil leak from cam cover. Good. Full stainless powerflow exhaust (not noisy at all) Elec windows and sunroof work well. Solid and rust free. Nice trim. A good comfortable winter smoker that you could punt on in the spring to get your money back, or even break  for a bit of profit. Really, common sense says I should keep this, and if it doesn't get much interest, I probably will, but I've just got the itch for a change. Again. Also got my RA40, but that's laid up as I don't have time to use it  Original plan was to sell the Scirocco and use this, but the tax is now out on this and the Scirocco is growing on me, although not quite enough to stop me wanting something else, so they're both up for grabs because I can't buy anything until I've shifted something. |

Top end, I think, is the timing chain, although it's not mega-bad. Tappets rattle a little on cold start, until the oil gets to them, so only a couple of seconds. Bottom end is sound. More pics tomorrow. |

Or it could be hydraulic lifters - my old A4 had the rattles . It's not really lifter noise. They rattle for a couple of seconds on start-up, but otherwise are fine. |

Can vouch that this is a steal, I was the previous owner and only sold it as I found a 1 owner totally mint Coupe for sale down the road. A few pics I found this morning     Just to add that the wheels were refurbed a couple of years ago so are in very good nick. And that exhaust is just right, almost wish I'd taken that off before I sold it. Having dug around on various forums, the clunk is likely to be one of the drop links, which are about 15 quid from GSF and are an easy fix. I just never had time to do them (bl**dy kids!!!) |
