How about a Mercedes E240 Elegance Estate 7 seater, fsh long tax and test, front wings very scabby but solid and drives A1, everything works.
Would be plus cash your way, but if you were interested how much would you need?

well, you can get gearboxes for around £150 - but apart from the slight crunch, it drives fine - doesnt pop out of gear and if you put it in gear slowly (3rd to neutral to 4th) it just slips into gear fine!
I had all the seats taken out and pressure washed so they are nice and clean (yes, the heated elements still work - rather well in fact!) and have been using it as a van (comet sales are on you know!) and the amount of space is rather remarkable!!

Might just need the cable change adjusting.
I recall my mate having similar issues at the same sort of mileage on one of these,don't think it was too hard a job either.
As a point of interest his went on until he sold it at 210000 miles with no real issues at all,absolutely superb motors these.
