I now own a Unimog 404 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D my vehicle 'bucket list' is pretty much complete. (the affordable one anyway) What you see here is a 1959 unimog 404, in a 'weathered' condition no history other than registered in 1980 having come from the Belgian Army. It hadn't started for quite some time, so a quick check of fluids etc, a decent gravity feed fuel tank linked to the carb inlet and two 12 volt batteries wired in series (its 24 volt) a tap of the points in the dizzy and away it went. had to attach a land rover to act as an anchor as it has no brakes. the cab is VERY rusty but i will extend it to add an extra row of seats The animals that had made it home have been nicely removed so other than a bit of T cut and a proper fuel tank I should be out in it early next year. enjoy................

The truck instantly turned half a dozen grown men into 5 year olds, we were all giggling and filming the manouvers around the yard. - I should have had a responsible adult looking after us all when it got started up.

Beautiful truck! I love Unimogs and have always wanted one!
Have often thought about a particular Desert expedition which would need Unimogs, but due to the cost of them, have put it on the back burner.... I've thought about using RB44s as well, but the horror stories and the fact they don't have a reputation of a Unimog has put me off a little....
Can I be cheeky and ask how much you paid for your truck please?

a very slow video of it moving under its own steam, albeit with a landrover acting as an anchor as it has no brakes - the diesel noise is the land rover not the mog - the mog is a straight 6 petrol and an engine running

Awesome in all ways only a true man could buy something like this without telling her indoors.. expect a period of great silence, but it will be worth it

Hmmm 2 birds 1 stone? haha What license do you need to drove one of these? you need a pre 1997 license I think, the type that has more than just cars on it, this one is registered as a flat lorry with a GVW of 3.5 tons, some are registered as agricultural so it makes no difference. I am working on a plan to tell the wife, "Our child wanted a tractor so I bouight something more practical instead"
