Hey Mate Great conversion!!! I'm doing the same conversion myself at the moment but at this stage without the turbo. I was hoping I could ask a few questions about the electrical side of things. Did you use the clutch and brake switch inputs to the ECU? Love the big brakes and aftermarket gauges. I hope that diff holds up!!!! Cheers. any help would be appreciated. Hi mate. Thanks. It held up well with a supercharger so fingers crossed. Not sure I understand what you mean about brake and clutch. I'm using the spitfire loom for lights ect. MX5 connected it's loom (cut down) only for the MS ECU. I'm not using the standard mazda ecu. I'm not sure the mx5 loom/ecu runs anything brake other then the ABS. More info/pic @ facebook.com/tsmod feel free to ask away.

You should be fine, i had a stock spit 1500 diffbehind my ca18det (175bhp) and hard launches were okay. I ran a supercharged 1600 mx5 lump in my herald on a 1:3.63 diff with marina pinion wheel and abused that allot with no trouble. I did blow a stock 12/50 diff when i had a rotary engine. The diff was not really my concern it was the trunions i wasnt to keen upon

Yeah I had a look on FB Looks like its coming along really well. The stock ecu uses an input for the tail lights and a the clutch, but I guess if the MS units don't use them they cant be that important. Stripping the stock loom was one hell of a brain teaser though! Ive managed to get the motor far enough back and low enough into the chassis so I don't have to cut any holes in the bonnet. Then shortened the shifter by about 6 inches. It sure makes for a tight fit though. Hey Cheers for your reply, no doubt Ill be asking a whole bunch more questions as the conversion comes along.
Thanks again.

It uses the brake switch for the cruise control. I'm running with the MX5 loom but using the Herald wiring for the brake lights. All is fine.

MOT today! Not heard anything so don't know if it's a pass! Rough tune to get to the MOT netted 166bhp at the wheels. Look ok ?
