Having bought an e30 for not a lot in the wrong colour, I think I'll repainting the car one way or another this weekend. Brushing/rolling/spraying (cans or compressor) it doesn't matter but I'm looking for inspiration! Had thought about matt black, but thats a bit old hat, maybe two tone with the bonnet... Anyway, what do you think??

please don't do it in matt black!!!!!!! id get some nice dark grey and blast it with that. or just paint the bonnet black, that would improve it too

if it were mine; laguna splitter on the front, a proper lowering and some nice rubber on them tyres. give it a nice clean FTW I'm all up for something different - but sometimes its better to just leave it be IMO done

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Yeah colour is different already, which is good. paint alloy centres black and hit the front with the stick. and give a right good clean, wax polish (i've never done this before lol) and blacken bumpers up with spray etc, see how smart it looks a little cleaning goes a long way, believe me from my adventures this summer.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

The problem is I can't have a green car (just a family thing ). I actually quite like the colour, but it's not to be. I was thinking of grey, and I'm quite liking the idea of a two toned bonnet. I'm not sure if I'm keeping the wheels on there as I'm not sure they're my cup of tea, I can get my hands on OEM 14" alloys with decent rubber. This just going to be a cheap and cheerful car until my e21 is ready, so I'm not sure how far I'm going to go with it. Lowering maybe on the cards though! I'll have to check that photo later as the pic isnt working at work, cheers.

Nato olive drab? Although I'm seeing a lot more of this about recently. How about camo?! What e30 is it? Looks a nice straight example from that pic. I know what you mean about green cars - I know a few people that won't have them because they're seen to be unlucky! Is this your reasoning for the colour change?

Rub it down and mask it up then blat the whole thing with black, grey and white stone chip with a shutz gun, urban camo style

Or you could do the whole car with some marble fablon.

I quite lik the giffer spec colour, I have temprarily got used to china blue , and isnt it a turqoisy blue that? Primer grey (not actual primer though as moisture soaks in a colour like it) is my suggestion for a non pro job if ya must...

It looks quite straight, why not just ponce it up, sell it to make a quick wage and buy a better example in a colour you like? Theres enough of these about still and if you start buggering about with schutz guns and matt paint on something like this it`ll be worth sod all.
On the other hand if its not as straight as it looks and its just an old knacker to get you about then why not do it Red Oxide primer? Piece of p*ss to get on and an interesting alternative to Matt Black.

It's a 318i, no mega power due to me being 21, just something to get me from A to B for the meanwhile. Yeah the green thing is similiar to the unlucky thing, it runs in my family, I'm not bothered but it's my dad who is insisting on it and it should be fun either way! I absolutely love the nato green, but it's still green maybe matt grey... Any matt grey cars anyone could share?? Thanks ;D
