It seems that they are originals. As so far I could figure out. Was thinking about M410, but then I need to make travel to Sweden since to find this gearbox in Latvia is no chance. Was also considering to put M41, but will it hold the load? Since its not ment for B30 power. Not sure about whether the M41 would handle the torque. People who rally Amazons and 140s often upgrade to M400 or M410. I guess you could rebuild it with the auto for now, then do a manual conversion later, as a separate project. I think you might find a seller who would ship a gearbox to you. The axle (diff ratio) is also different on a manual John

Not much to say, just a small update. I got my rotisserie on this weekend. So was busy to connect it to the body. Process: Rear connector Rear frame bolted to car. Front part. Bolted to side members Look from the front. So now I can rotate the car and it will be easier to blast, clean, weld it also. And easier to see rust. ;D Thats it for the moment. Next step is to move it to the blasting company. Hopefully next week. Cheers.

Not much done since last time, but just to keep post updated. So the body is off for fixing the rust holes and getting the new metal in. Menawhile got my hands dirty on axles. Front axle Some bolts are going off This one has been lost the thread. One of the front brake caliper didn't went off. I was running out of the leverage on spanner. So one bolt is still seized. The same story with lover ball joints. Nuts are off but couldn't split the lower arm from pinion. Dismantling parking brake Will be looking for new set of brake pads and discs. Therefore was measuring dimensions. Any ideas where to look for front brake disks except of VP-Autoparts? They are bloody expensive over there. Upper arms are also off and waiting for the ball joint puller to take them off and way to go for cleaning. So for the moment its all. Next is to clean all axles and paint them and hopefully put them back together. ;D

Have you tried looking on eBay for brake parts? eBay uk lists brake discs and pads for the 164, and most sellers will post worldwide. Postage may make things expensive though!

Hi. I have been looking also on ebay. Due to weight they are quite expensive to ship. But I have some ideas where to seek.

Take in mind that are 2 diferent types of brakes. Girling and ATE. So don't buy some just to buy them again...

Got my hands on some staff yesterday. Dismantled the axles, so they are ready for sandblasting. Made my own ball joint puller. Here is upper link with ball joint pulled off. Did some cleaning job on power steering. When I got to the rear calipers I saw some discrepancies between left and right brake calipers. So it seems that one is Girling and other is ATE. After all we need to rethink what to do next. ;D

Look at what you got on the fronts and buy one to make the brake set right... I am looking for an exhaust manifold from a 164E, do you know any one that might have them?!?!

I have ATE on three whelss, so I will need on ATE caliper more. Regarding manifold: KG-Trimning got this one: Price for TYP-B30 is 4600 SEK, so raffly 500 EUR. Other option: I found a bargain here in Latvia. One guy is selling his project 164 1970 AUT. So it will be complete car with lot of spares. I can tell You what I will got shortly and maybe we can agree that I can ship You the manifold.

So yesterday went to the guy who is selling his project 164. It was real luck to find him here. His car is 1970 AUT 3.0 carbs. So not only the car itself but lot of new spares comes with it. As the his project bits are placed in several locations, I was yesterday just to look on the part of the new bits he has collected: So the magic presents box. ;D And it hides: Will not fit for me, but I can sell them or change to injection one. This bit I will keep for myself. And definetly these I will keep. Also there is a box full of carburretors parts such as needles etc. Again will not fit for me but could be exchanged for some other bits. Parts for exaust system. Also not included in the pictures but I will got two new front fenders, new boot lid, 4 !!!! windshields, calipers, brake disks, new front lamps, and the car. Not bad I think. It will help to save some teamoney. ;D

Let me know what you won't be needing/use since I might buy you some of the parts like the last ehxaust box or the carbs bits... Nice catch you've found. Here in Portugal I've found a '73 volvo 144 for sale with good interior bits but when I contacted the seller it was already selled...
