hello all. right my mate has a little 1.1 mk1 fiesta sitting in my barn at the moment. it doesnt seem too bad at all, but i have not had a good clamber round underneath at the mo. the front of one front wing is a bit furry, but other that that seems quite stock and in good nick. he was talking about putting a mondeo engine in the rear and turbo'ing it, but i think (thankfully) he has given up on that idea. basically, i am after some pics or ideas to inspire him into action, as i don't want to see the old girl just sit there doing nothing. if i get a chance, i will take some piccys of it at the weekend
thanks

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

rst goes straight in, but only on a 4 speed box, AFAIK. the N/S chassis leg needs to be "notched" for a 5 cog-swoppa IIRC

is that same for the mk2's- shure someone told me they were a bit wider that the mk1 (from the days when i had a mk2 and wanted to put a mk1 front on)

mk2's have a narrower track, thats why they flip easier. what I was told anyhoo. not sure how the mk2 gets around the chassis leg issue, I know the turrets are different, not sure if anything else is

ahh yes mk1 fiestas, now theres something I can rabbit on about for years! That OSF thread is great, just goes to show how popular they are getting nowerdays. I don't think anyones built one that I truly think is perfection yet tho. There are some damn fine examples but they are either all a bit too 'fordish' or a bit '90s chavtastic' or a bit 'trying too hard' for my liking. Still too many fog light and pepperpots floating about aswell (why havent I seen a stock xr2 slammed on 7" wide capri pots with 175/50s yet!!!?? ) I like mine but its far from perfect too, I'm not relly happy with the wheel/tyre combo/stance its got (i should say had as my dad has nicked its wheels!) Wheels are a nice style but just a bit too common. It sits too high at the back aswell, I relly should have rolled the arches at the back to get it lower I guess. I think I can do better, put it that way! Relly like this one, I'm not sure if its just a good pic but it looks relly mean and subtle. Nice and differant (for a fiesta) but the stance is not quite right for me. This one relly did look good at FF, it semes like theres loads with these wheels tho. They can work well as this car shows but they are just too common for me. Seeing this one at RCS05 is partly responsible for me getting mine, its great but its just those wheels again! I nearly brought a bravo.... twice! those hub caps have great potential from where I'm sitting! That cought my eye, potential there. They look alot differant with the big bumpers Someone need sto have a go at this kind of thing, I don't relly want to go the big arch route with mine but they do work very well most of the time! Loose the sun strip and paint the cage a differant colour and this could easly be my favorite! lowness wins everytime! Now does anyone know if this is a british or european car? I thought it was euro but I'm sure its been at uk shows. Nice but again trying a little too hard for it to truly 'win'. My mind rambles on
