Right, this has got to go, as I've recently bought an Audi Coupe, which I prefer. Bought off here a couple of months ago, without MOT and having been stood around for a short while. Now MOT'd until July 29th 2013, and taxed until end of January 2013. Has 15" OZ alloys, with a bit of dish, and has had the Pierburg carb replaced with a Weber item with manual choke. Starts first time and runs well, although it is a bit hesitant if it gets to stop/start traffic temperaturesorted, although the idle is high. Suspect it needs idle jets resizing. It DOES NOT overheat, and the fan starts and stops as it should. Apparently, it had a head refurb(?) by the last owner. I have noticed that it's a GTI head, as has injectors in it. Don't know if they're different to the standard, but it does seem to go well. Never welded, and doesn't need it. MOT tester was impressed. Body is solid except for a couple of random scabs on the drivers door. Also has a couple of knocks on the corners, that you can see in the pictures. Interior is good, although has usual bolster wear on drivers seat. It's showing 113000 miles. Bad Bits: Heater matrix has been disconnected, so I presume it leaks. Heater fan motor is also noisy. Now re-connected and a cautionary radweld added. No leaks detected, and a lovely warm breeze! It leaks a bit of oil from the cam cover. Could do with tracking and front wheels balancing. Was going to put it on standard wheels, so waited to do this. But now the Audi's here....... You know Anyway, I could do with this out of the way, especially as I go on holiday soon and could do with the cash, although an economical PX might be considered. Car is in Westhoughton, near Bolton (BL5 postcode), and the price is £650. Have a couple of photos. It's been cleaned since these were taken, but it's pouring down at the minute, so I haven't taken any fresh ones.

I'll offer some feedback/thoughts! (i'll try to be fair but firm) The head(even tho refurb)/heater matrix/stop start temp temperment 'might' be putting some people off. It's tough because personally when I list a car I try to list things such as that in detail like you have, and even though you think it's fair car the flip side people will probably think....but what if this that ect happens? It's also slightly over priced for the "run it for its mot/tax then bin it" market but not that appealing to a collector due to the fact its not the mintest/low miles example (even tho it seems in fairly good nick!) I like the car personally but sadly have no money and have no need atm for a retro! But would suggest maybe lowering the price slightly by a digit at the front? You might just tempt in those bangernomics (run till it drops) type of people for that money? Just a thought!

I disagree and think the price is just fine. Sciroccos have long since gone off the bangernomics shopper's radar in my opinion. Anyone wanting a cheap runaround to drive into the ground will just pick up some late 90s Korean heap. The honest description might put some people off, but I think you just have to be patient and wait for the right buyer - someone after a useable, appreciating classic with MOT who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty to make it perfect. You might try advertising it on some VW forums to get to more potential buyers. Just my 2p.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I'm inclined to agree with BenzBoy that my honesty may be offputting, but I'm not prepared to scrimp on the description and have someone feel like they've been done up like a kipper.
I guess patience may be the key, here. In the meantime, there's a chance it may be getting swapped for swomething else that I quite like, otherwise, I'll work my way through some little niggles and update the ad as and when.
A close offer may be accepted, though, so if anyone's interested, let me know.

Price is spot on pal. I run a 91 scala, and these cars are a piece of pee to work on. The issues you mention are so minor its hardly detrimental to any prospective buyer, spend £2-300 on this and it'll be spot on. So whoever does get it will have an appreciating, modern classic for less than a grand. Also these later roccos don't rust badly at all as they were thoroughly undersealed an waxed in all the nooks and crannies on the production line. GLWS pal.

Best bet Franster, whenever i've sold any cars it's been like a script writing them out but worth it in the long run explaining point by point, saves alot of hassle being truthful, good on ya!
Would just like to point out in my post above, didn't mean your car should be in the 'bangernomics territory" as it is a classic car and a retro i've always liked the look of personally but just meant if you were after cash quickish then the run it till it drops market always seem to be looking at sub half a grand region, and also those collectors who look to buy restore and resell to make a profit.
I'd agree with Benzboy about the enthusiast forums, perhaps also some other classic ones too? and as you say, keep fixing any little bits you can and use it as a swapping tool. GLWTS!

It is bud, we used her for a bit then I had both sides painted and moved her on to a guy I knew - he's since sold it but it's still local to me, see it regularly - the missus now has a 16v Corrado as her plaything...

Hi, this is one of my old roccos that i bought from a girl up the road from me who had it for about 8 years before i bought it off her in 2010, i put the engine in as the original engine was showing headgasket faults so i had a sweet engine under the bench that i was saving for a "special" project, this was not the special project but i needed it to get to work on the monday morning so in it went. its a full gti engine that i bought salvage from a mate who had a smash in his gti when it had only clocked up 3000 miles, its bored to 1900cc, had a full rebuild, rods, shells and head skim, the company who did it was tsr, i did have the reciept for it with all my mk1 stuff and i know it was £1500 plus the vat to build it. i gave it a few mods to get it running quick with a nearly new weber carb and put a new sachs clutch and thrust in it for good measure, i never intended to let it go with the engine but bought a house and needed it sold asap so it went to a lad from monmouth. so i hope that clears up the strange engine oh and have a free bump. It's still here, and the hot hesitation is (nearly) sorted, or at least FAR better. Had a couple of enquiries, but no-one has the £££ yet So, weekend bump. I'm working all day tomorrow, but around Sunday, so might be a bit slow to reply.

Right, it's had a good 30 mile test drive today, and the hot hesitation is now gone. Fuel lines have been cleaned out, and fuel filters changed. It's a bit lumpy on tickover, but I reckon a bit of carb setting should see it right.
Still want it sold, and would welcome something small, economical and intersting in PX.
Anyone???

May pop round this weekend if I can, only snag is i'm in China for a couple of weeks as of next Friday. Kee, there's loads of room in the back, I've had two childseats in no problems, and the boot is plenty big enough for pushchair and other child-related gubbins. The only small snag is that it has fixed rear belts, which just means you have to tighten them up before you fit the seats, rather than relying on the inertia reel. If your kids are big enough to go on seats with the belt around them, you just adjust it to their size, with the added advantage that they can't wriggle out of it. Alternatively, I'm led to believe that Corrado inertia reel belts are a straight fit, but haven't investigated this. Give me a ring, if you want, and we can arrange for you to come down or we can meet up. I'll pm you my number. Chris.
