40 in the country? Absolute rubbish.
Probably 40 registered as a 'tourer', many many more registered as a touring which is the correct name.

If it's the same as the Metro the lesser bhp 1.4 k-series are only single point injection, the 103ish bhp models were multipoint. A 414 goes really well IMO for a car of it's size and the engine. The Metro spi was 8v - all the 16v engines were mpi. Two outputs in the 414 were 95bhp and 103bhp, with the difference in the TB. Not driven one yet, so can't comment until the weekend. Nope. Both 8 & 16v engines came with both spi and mpi. Sorry

You could always use the age old trick of tyres your avenger should prob run 80 section tyres stick on some 60 profiles and you will have better acceleration times for much less than twin carbs. have you ever been to SantaPod the Harris boys are out running 1000 bhp skylines in 200 bhp mk1 escorts!! its not all about power my triumph is 120bhp at the wheels but can do 0-60 in around 6.3 seconds and its so much fun

Who in their right mind looks up the fuggin performance stats on a Proton Aerodeck FFS, just take a guess at how fast its going to be, you'll probably be about right. Jesus.

Jesus. ;D My mate had a 1.3 and that went pretty well, very revvy motor. I reckon the 1.5 would be good. Just make sure you get one with a rear spoiler.
