Little known fact: The engine noise from the chevy in TLB was used for the Bandit's Trans Am! The pontiac didn't have the 'note' they were looking for LOL

Didn't know that......I know the '55 in American Graffiti is the TLB one....and it was the real deal-454, 4-speed etc etc...and ran in the region of 11 sec for the 1/4 mile...but didn't know that they'd used the engine note. Would make sense though, by the time that film was made even as 455 Trans-Am would have been strangled to death by emissions curse word

ive got to add "more american graffiti" to the excellent car movies list. milner becomes a drag racer of some success and half the movie,s set on a drag strip. it just oozes hot rod nostalgia.

Another couple of good 'car' films from the early '70s are......'Return to Macon county' (with a very young Don Johnson) and 'Heart like a wheel' (Beau Bridges)
