Little known fact: The engine noise from the chevy in TLB was used for the Bandit's Trans Am! The pontiac didn't have the 'note' they were looking for LOL  |

Didn't know that......I know the '55 in American Graffiti is the TLB one....and it was the real deal-454, 4-speed etc etc...and ran in the region of 11 sec for the 1/4 mile...but didn't know that they'd used the engine note. Would make sense though, by the time that film was made even as 455 Trans-Am would have been strangled to death by emissions curse word  |

ive got to add "more american graffiti" to the excellent car movies list. milner becomes a drag racer of some success and half the movie,s set on a drag strip. it just oozes hot rod nostalgia.

Another couple of good 'car' films from the early '70s are......'Return to Macon county' (with a very young Don Johnson) and 'Heart like a wheel' (Beau Bridges)
