hey, I tell you what, on thursday morning there was an old couple 4 houses down getting into a FD vauxhall ventora! amazing condition, like a deep bronze colour, bit like yours but more goldy. how rare must that be? never seen one in my life, let alone nearby.

Right, small info update as I've lost the pictures.
I've made up a new back box using some stuff that was laying about, just got a nice chrome tip today too. This has improved the car quite a bit but not as much as the removal of the horrific wing mounted aerial.
I've also re-attached all the mudflaps as a couple were threatening to fall off.
An ebay purchase netted me 4 chrome trim rings for the wheels but they turn out to not be a matching set, rather 2 pairs. Grrrrrrrrr. More on their way.
Next I guess is fitting a new aerial somewhere sensible and putting in a decent radio as Dire Straits through one speaker is getting a bit wearing and the radio doesn't work at all now.
I have some fog lamps coming as only one works and the other just fell out in a pile of dust when I opened it. I think I'll be fitting some modern lamps in the original housings. We'll see.
There are other things afoot though what with the green cars weldathon and the probability of the blue car coming indoors this week AND I need to freshen up the Mini, then there's the Carlton and lastly the Monza...... and the Discovery is due an MOT so I expect a month of welding from that.
Fingers crossed for that elusive lottery win!

I am a lucky chap.... and there'll be a new addition to the fleet fairly soon Anyway, pictures. (boring ones)  Shiny wheel trim....  Look no aerial...  Chromey tail pipe...  and a sad farewell to a long(ish) serving friend:  cold workshop and hot water....  and then an hour later, the replacement was overcome by particularly strong gravity.  Sad times. I still haven't adopted a suitable replacement. Oh, I did this a few days ago too....  better than scruffy old this:  That's all for today folks. |

Well, after a while in a hedge where not only has it not fixed itself, but has developed some really serious spiders, I thought I'd better sort it out.  Bit of a bath....  Some weldy weldy and a couple of mechanical fixings, new back box, clean interior a bit and adjust clutch cable, bleed and free off brakes, electrical spruce up etc.  Some polishing.  Some satin black where it should be.  More cleany polishy.   You get the idea. MOT next week. Sent from my HTC Desire C using proboards |

(I managed to disconnect the brake pedal switch while delving around and a couple of little rustyholes I'd missed)
The fleet is now largely mobilised.
