I'm thnkng off getting a skoda estelle maybe, i heard theres one going for swap on a skateboard and a bottle of pepsi or something equally nothing.
its a right old shitter and has been graffittied and most likely knackered abit but got some mot.
is there anyway of fiddling with these on a proper shoe string. I'm talking lowering it with a grinder and drilling holes in the air box stylee.
so any pointers on how to lower it, perhaps straight swap engines that will bolt in no problems, the pcd for the wheels so i can get something abit bigger from the scrappies.
can any of this sort of thing be done for next to nothing to make it go abit?
stripping out the interior and shaving off as much weight as possible is first on the list.
i need really getto bodges to make it go abit better and look abit better. don't worry this skoda is long past saving for a nice car, terminal rat is the way for this one.
cheers in advance like!

What cc engine does it have ? Whichever size it is I wouldn't bother fitting other makes engines in simply cos they nearly always weigh more and curse word up the handling! The little Skoda engines are very tuneable...and the fun, basic nature of the car makes them fun even without modifying them. Speed wise, I would fit a Weber carb, free-er flowing exhaust and generally makesure the engine is set up right. An obvious thing, but easily missed..make sure it's getting full throttle..the long distance from pedal to carb means that adjustment is more critical! The springs can be chopped easily enough, and the wheel PCD is the same as 4 stud Beetles. There are 2 different types of rear suspension...swing axle or semi-trailing arm. Basically these cars are fun even at low speeds, at high speeds they can be exhilerating and sometimes scary!

Doubt it'll be under 1 litre.....there is 1046, 1174 or 1289 cc. You got any pics of the car? Can you weld? If so get a silencer off of pretty much anything and make your own exhaust! The inlet manifold will take pretty much any Weber carb, so take your pick in a scrappy if you're able to adapt things a bit for the throttle/choke ect. Of course you'll need to join the Owners' Club too....see the link in my sig!! ;D

Welding's easy enough dude - just buy a MIG and have a go. Clean metal and proper welding gas (argoshield lite is best) are the keys to success

this is all sounding promising.
with the carbs, I don't know much about twin/dual carbs, but would they fit straight on or does that require abit more stuff?
also how about supercharging? would one of those eton mini cooper S chargers go on without too much fidling?
