I have been having much trouble with people on a ex pat forum (eye on spain) www.eyeonspain.com/forums/posts-long-16363.aspxI posed the question of what are the rules in Spain on modifying cars. The topic has turned into much finger waiving from on high and telling me off for not having had mt Rover SD1 SVA'd for which they reckon it should have been as I changed the engine to a 4.6, fitted jag brakes and uprated suspension. I have told them that not enough of the cars original id was changed in order to warrant this. Anyway it has just turned into name calling etc. If what they say is true then just about every modified car in the UK would need an SVA. Which brings us smartly onto this upcoming law again!  |

If you altered the monocoque in any stressed area (firewall and gearbox tunnel specifically mentioned) then you instantly lose the mandatory 5 points from the shell. ANYway, I don't think you have to worry unless your car is modified exceeding the 8 point system. Which it won't.

Confused as to what you are refering to, Red Victor 1? |

It is namely for re registered vehicles with an identity, kit cars and J imports, no? Exactly and that's just on this forum alone!  |
