Right well time for an update! I picked up some shocks! Then a cheeky trip to Mini Spares happened so now have all the bits I need to get her rolling. Now the whole reason we went up there and didn't order online was so I could take my radius arms there to be swapped in for some refurbed ones. But I totally forgot to take the old ones up haha so I need to go back up and get some money back. But here are the nice fresh ones. Few of the last bits to get her rolling were some knuckle joints and a rear castle nut. Although not needed for her to be rolling I also got the rest of the bits for the handbrake. A new fuse box so I can finish off a bit more of the loom. Then just a few odd bolts and fixings that I have lost while she's been in bits. Then of course when rebuilding a car you can never have enough nuts and washers and seeing as I have used nearly all of the ones I bought last time I thought I would stock up again. Maybe, Just maybe she will be sat on all 4 wheels by next weekend. Anyway thats about it for now! Cheers.

Some lovely touches and outside the box thinking with this car, the ATS Classics are a great choice (as are those amazing Momo wheels!). Loving the attention to detail too, it's going to be stunningly clean when done. Keep up the good work!

Well its been a while since I update this but I have been working on it flat out! I can't remember what order a lot of this went so it could be all over the place. Shocks on! Built up the rear brakes, hubs and arms. I got the pedal box on and fitted the master cylinders. Then while tightening them nuts up I snapped a stud and it all had too come back out. curse word. Engine got another lick of paint decided to do the lot green in the end. The one thing I was waiting for to get it on its wheels was the camber brackets which turned up. Also got a nice haul of parts from Beaulieu Bought an exhaust. Bought some trick hinges. Now came the biggest set back. Woke up and got the tyres fitted to the wheels. Great start to the day so then set out to get it sat on them. Did the passenger side fine everything thing went together really well. Tried drivers side to find out one captive that had been repaired by a local garage was in the wrong place and one was missing altogether. While we were this far I thought it would be silly to not see what the wheels looked like though. As you can see there I also test fitted the back box to see what it was like. The grill tash went on. Subframe came back off so I could get it repaired. Sent it too my mate who is gonna weld the nuts up properly. Fitted the bonnet hinges. I'v then started on the engine as I want to get that in ASAP. Manifold stud done! Fitted the head gasket and got the head on. I just need to find some head nuts. I also found out a thermostat housing and oil filter housing which I'm gonna clean up and fit. Then last night I fitted my new pedal box and to the master cylinders on again without braking anything. Boom! So yea I would love to have been a bit further along with the build now but **** happens. Let hope the subframe doesn't take long and I can then get it rolling! Thanks for reading! Cheers.

Love those bonnet hinges - make it look a lot better. Sometimes little things like that can make all the difference. Do they enable the bonnet to be opened wider?

This is looking very lovely! I had the first version of those bonnet hinges on my Mini before I sold it, they are awesome, the bonnet opens SO much further and the bonnet prop is not in the way when you try to reach anything... Plus there is a much reduced chance of smashing the bonnet catch on the top of your head...
Keep it up, nice to see a sweet Mini build!!

Yea the price of the hinge is worth it if it means no more mashing your head on the bonnet catch. I will be getting some for my clubby when I give that a strip down.

A mate came over today and we for the rear subframe back on and built up although we were struggling to get the subframe bolts in the heal board to line up so those 2 still need fitting but all the rest are done. It didn't help that my trusty old trolly jack I bought when I first got the car gave up today which made it harder then it should have been. A mate popped round with his jack so 2moz as long as its not raining I'll try and get them in. Anyway some pics! Her she is for the first time in 4 years sat down on her own wheels. Wheels have some lovely poke! Then Ross had to go and with the jack broken I thought I would have a fiddle and sort out the washer bottle. A boring plastic one would not have suited on this car so I had to drink a bottle of Jack Daniels so I could make one from that. Hard life. Pretty pleased with it. Simple really just drilled out the cap and stuck some silicone hose with it and then filled the cap with plasticine to keep the hose in place and too stop it leaking from the top on bumps. Next task is making a bracket to hold it in place. Other good news is I am back on working mornings which means I have afternoons/evenings to do bits yay! Thanks for reading as always.

I feel your pain with those blessed heelboard bolts, mine had been repaired both sides so pretty much the only way to get all four subframe mounts on was to leave everything on the subframe loose and then get the bolts through the mounts and tightened up in the heelboard, then put the bolts through the boot floor at the rear before tightening the mounts onto the subframe - it was a nightmare...!!
Otherwise washer bottle looks good and those wheels look pretty mean! Lucky with the weather at the moment - best crack on before it starts raining!!!

Cheers. I went to a christening on the Sunday and apparently a few people that went were ill after so I think someone was passing something around.

So again Ross came over to lend a hand, Cheers man. We mainly spent the afternoon doing small odd jobs but the car now steers which makes moving it around a million times more simple. We fitted the wiper motor and rack and made a start on some of the brakes lines and hoses. I managed to find some head studs so there all on and fitted and just need tightening up. Found a few bits that need sorting but otherwise a pretty good afternoon. Few random pics. That steering wheel won't be staying don't worry haha. Wipers! Starting to look a little more complete but still missing the main part haha. Keeping this clean should be fun! Random pic but I love this look. Shame I don't have any bumpers so complete the look. Also massive thanks to Mike for picking up aloud of stuff from mini spares for me which means I can crack on with more jobs this week.
