Been playing about with idle mixtures today, got it a bit better on idle and normal driving. On boost is really rich, 9.0-9.5 ! But I have taken I/c off and the boost pipe does get quite warm where it's routed, so gunna try put I/c here Obviously make it a lot neater, fit it how the grill fits This way the turbo can be plumbed straight into it with one bend, then where it comes out, I can route boost pipe away from engine rocker and exhaust, and still use very little lengths of pipe, so still should boost up quickly

Good work chap! Around 15:1 at idle and cruise is cool, you won't have to chase it much just make sure it feels crisp and drives smoothly without hesitation. On boost 9:1 is a little rich, look for 11-12:1 for a safe mixture. You should be able to adjust this using your pitot tubes and setup, controlling this will adjust the pressure difference between the float chamber and choke, altering the AFR More vids please J

I have a leak between the turbo and exhaust, would this give false readings?
I've tried playing with idle screws today, but says its still way to lean! Are there larger idle jets available?

Leaky exhaust wont help readings. It must be pretty bad if its saying 20-21 on idle as it wouldnt idle that lean.
You should be aiming for 11.5-12.1 on full throttle/boost. Any leaner and your asking for trouble imo. You also need some means for listening for detonation.

Cool, the flange was made via grinder and file so very 'homemade' lol Il try get it better tomorrow How would I listen out for detonation?

You look like you're making good progress now and getting the hang of it I'm going to make one of these for knock detection and ignition mapping on Megajolt: Autospeed DIY Detonation DetectorI know on mine there was a small point in the ignition map it made a very audible sound, literally like having a bag of spanners jangling in my hand . I used the datalogging feature to pinpoint the exact conditions where I could hear it and retarded the timing in that general part of the map.

An exhaust leak before the wideband sensor will allow it to suck in fresh air and thus give a very high (lean) reading. Under boost the exhaust is "pressurized" and it won't suck in air giving a more precise reading. Atleast, that's how I see it Larger jets are easily available but you can also drill out the current jets, use a 1mm drillbit and just use your hands to "drill" it out. You have a boost dependant fuel pressure regulator right? Couldn't you adjust this to run slightly less pressure when boosting? This will only effect the fuel level under boost and should keep cruise settings the same.

Yeah, I have boost FPR, it's set as low as it can go. Had a little rummage around engine and found the exhaust gasket had chunk missing out of it, got exhaust pipe of to to try make it fit better. What your sayin sounds right to me I had 135 jets as standard, then drilled tgem out because I thought it was leaning under boost, now I have O2 sensor, it says I'm doing the opposite so ordered up the 135 jets again. See how that goes

Yeah, got one of those wire donut gasket, squeezes in nicely so should stop any leak for now, gunna make a proper exhaust at some point This is my first real project......the end never seems to be in sight, I suppose this is normal

Took it out quickly to see if everything work ok, here's a video too. Got better readings now I solved exhaust leak, not sure if you can tell from phone video, also I've purposefully just stayed in second gear, the rev counter goes all the way round once I've lifted off the throttle, why is this? Engine doesn't sound like its doing over 8k revs ! Have I wired it wrong somewhere? Also, need to sort out wastegate, think I hit about 18-20 psi at some points! And it sure as hell felt like it too! Seriously tho, not smart.........

Still waaaaayyy to rich, waiting on smaller main jets, still can't use what, have to stay at half throttle otherwise it just splutters to a hault Can't wait to get it out on public roads for a proper thrash about

Why would my rev counter say I'm doing more revs than I am?
It shows idle speeds ok, then when driving, it will sometimes say I'm doing 5k, then sometimes it's off the scale (when it's defiantly nowhere near that sort of speed)
Any help appreciated
