	I'm practicing on reducing what I need to camp so I can go motorbike touring when I've built up my bike - anyhow, I'm bringing boil-in-the bags (lookwhatwefound.com - no affiliation) and cooking in such a way as the boiled water can then be used for tea to cut down on cooking fuel. That's the theory but in reality I'll probably exchange ultralightweight fivers for ready-cooked burgers once the heady waft of meat and onions hits me. A couple of used 1.5L coke bottles are useful as water containers for brew-up- a useful amount that can be spirited away in nooks and crannies of the car and doesn't cause hernias when refilled I think I'm going to risk a Polish wigwam tent which may or may not be waterproof but is easy up and down.

	Before erecting (no giggling) your tent, roll around on the ground where it's gonna be.... you'll like a tit, but you'll find that damn stone and throw it a mile BEFORE you try to go to sleep with it digging into your back

Fuel (can't get far without it) Tyres (legal and air in them) Oil (check level) Lights (all work) Windscreen washer fluid (remember, just having water doesn't clear the bugs) Windscreen wipers (check condition) Spare wheel (inflated and legal) 2: Personal. Clothes Waterproofs Money Credit/debit card Drinks Food Chewy bars (good for a quick snack) Backpack/daysack (to put above personal stuff in) 3: Journey. Tools AA/RAC card Mobile phone Litre of oil Bottle of water (for the radiator) First aid kit Directions how to get there (see Brians excellent thread) cable ties Disposable gloves Bulbs Fuses Wire Music (CDs/tapes/8-Track) Duck tape 4: Campsite. Tent Airbed Footpump Pillow Tent pegs Kitchen roll (more versatile than bog roll, also keep in plastic bag) Sleeping bag Camping stove (with enough gas) Insect repellent Something to read (car mags) Umbrella (golf one is best) Chairs Matches/lighter Torch Suntan lotion Coolbag Cup Ear plugs Bin bags Wetwipes Hat Cordless shaver Toothbrush And if you have room after all of that, you might be able to fit into the car yourself ;D

	Here's a top tip - don't accidentally sleep in the inner part of the tent. They're not waterproof.
