Seeing this thread makes me wonder, it must be an overseas type of thing- changing cars into pickups. We have So MANY small pickups here already, the Ford Ranger, the Chevy S-10, the complete Toyota, Nissan & older Mazda lines, there's more I'm forgetting. Literally hundreds of thousands each year are built and sold.
That's probably why not many people cut the back off of a car, if you need a pickup you can just go buy a little pickup truck for a few hundred bucks.

But it's crazy cool that all these people are into it and I was really sweet ones in this thread.

Here in New Zealand there was a period in history when pickups and small trucks were simply not available at any price. A lot of very nice conversions were done by professional motor body builders, sometime on almost new cars, to fill this gap in the market. A lot of very rough conversions were done too of course but they all served the intended purpose. If I could find a picture of my grandfather's '23 Studebaker Big 6 cut down I'd post it. Must ask my dad. I'm sure he'll have at least one somewhere.
