Hi all,
New member here... I have a 1995 Renault 19 16v Cabriolet Karman in black, I know it's not that retro but it's one of them cars you just don't see on the road anymore. I have owned it for just over a year now and travelled just over 18k in it as a daily driver. I have never seen another Reanault 19 16v cabriolet, hatch or saloon on the road since I've had it apart from French car show this year at Donington park where it was on the "Retro Renault" stand. I also took it around the track, some of you who attended may have seen it there.
I am only 26 so it's the mid 80's/90's cars I am into due to being around them growing up. Like alot of other retro car owners I find you tend to own a car you grew up with, mine is my 19 16v cabriolet not the best car in the world but I just like the fact nobody else seems to have one these days.
A few of my previous retro rides inc:
Series 2 Escort RS Turbo, black 1988 but full 90 spec origonal
2 x 1990 Fiat Uno Turbo's origonal
Lancia Delta HF turbo 1.6 origonal
14 Citroen AX GT's
3 Renault 5 GT Turbo's (one a 13 sec quarter mile car)
Renault 9 turbo 1988 (still got in bit's)
Metro GTA MK2 1990 in rare yellow Origonal.
Another 19 16v cabriolet 1995 in 449 william blue
1995 E36 coupe respayed Renault liquid yellow with black M3 alloys
205 1.9 GTi Black, red pin stripe, Origonal
Corsa GSi 2.0 16v Redtop
Nissan Sylvia Turbo S12 1988
My Renault 19 16v Is lowered on 18inch wheels with a set of coilovers and pretty much everything under the car has been replaced as follows:
Discs/Pads all round
Wheel bearings all round
Suspension all round
track rod ends
Ball joints
Engine mounts
ABS rings all round
Driveshafts (Reconditioned)
ABS sensors
Wishbones/bushes
Strut top bearings
ARB bushes
Full brand new exhaust system
New wings
Full front end respray
Alloys refurbished
It is possibly one of the best examples of the Renault 19 16v cabriolet left, well I hope to think so. I have had it up on a ramp and it is totally rot free which is quite unusual for a car of this type and hopefully it will stay this way or at least I will try my best to keep it this way.
Looking forwad to checking out your rides and I'll be up for attending some Retro Rides meets.
I will post up some pictures of my car and previous cars when I get in from work, unfortunately there is a filter on photobucket so I can't put them up at the moment on the work computer.
Thanks
Billy
EDIT here are some pictures of my car.
