Hi Guys, I've upgraded from a Sh*troen Saxo last week, got myself this corker of a BRM. I've always had a thing for these, and its been so much more fun than I ever expected! Picked it up from Coventry on thursday last week and brought it home to where it should be! (Longbridge!) Course, With any old car it does need a little TLC but does seem to be in reasonably good nick, considering I paid £750 for him! I'm new to this site, but a friend of mine managed to get me on the midlands stand apparently, for the gathering this month, So I thought I would post a quick thread up here to introduce myself! When I got it: Got to work yesterday, took off that god awful exhaust and got a standard one for it. Needs a new centre section as it does have a couple of small holes in. Besides that I just want to tidy him up really. Plan on getting some of the little niggly bits sorted out over the coming months, also the faded red carpet is annoying, so I want to re-dye that! Look forward to getting to know you all! Thanks guys, Jason

Thanks Guys, Love the interior too, so comfy. Cant wait to get to work on it though, Theres a lot to learn going from a bog standard 8v to a 16v with the vvc, Really need to find out how it actually works etc... before the inevitable HGF and i end up ripping the head off!

Don't dye the carpet take it out and replace with a lesser model if that is your thing. I love these and keep my eye on a few just in case, piper make a really nice exhaust but that said I like the deep growl the Ashley system gives but it makes more power with the piper system, also go for an enclosed induction kit as they do get heat soak with open filters even thou it makes it sound like an animal. Careful not to screw up the nice chassis with curse word lowering springs, ZR 160 items are a nice upgrade and about a 20mm drop. Same with the larger throttle body of a ZR 160/MGTF. I would look for an 800 vitesse/600ti to have on standby should the engine fail and drop the 2l turbo unit in it

Some days you just need to take a grinder to an inanimate object, just to make your day a tiny bit better!!

Thanks Buddy, I do plan on keeping him pretty standard for now, partly due to insurance reasons (I'm 21, so will sky rocket!) and I've only ever played around with a very simple 8v motor... Never touched a 16v, and the whole concept of the VVC baffles me. Wasnt really considering lowering it, My last car was sitting on the floor and I'm just glad i've got a bit of comfort now... The red carpet needs to be red though! Thanks buddy, I don't have any plans to modify it much as of yet, as said above but I do plan on getting him tidy. Theres small bits of rust starting to appear in all the usual places, so I want that done. I do also want to get rid of the cone filter and put that back to standard. Exhaust centre pipe is leaking (Quite a lot) so that will be replaced soon as. I've also got a minor issue with the fact the temp guage doesnt work... so no hard driving for me until thats done!

Nice car, I've been a fan of these since they were new. Just one thing, is there any chance you could take more pictures of the car and less of your own reflection in future?
