So my day has been totally wasted. Had to get two new front tyres for the Smart (forFour). So this morning I went to Kwik Fit,.. We were first in the queue for the day!! Result,.. no wait. ,..So how long does it take to change two tyres?? Fifteen minutes? Half an hour?? nope,... an hour?? Nope,.. an Hour and a Half later they have changed my tyres!! Thats without anyone else having been served!! On top of that my afternoon was spent failing to put a new harddrive in my home PC... Overall an unproductive day!! Anyone actually get anything done??

jeepers! I thought the kwik fit fitters were a bit slow but that takes the cake! hope they charged you a flat rate and not by the hour... I got nothing done today, recovered from last night and then chilled by doing some drawing (not done any for years). lovely lazy day

I put the rear bumper back on the Polo which was fairly uneventful (touch wood).
Other than that, not really!

Dude... Well if you will drive around in something modern... ;D Did they have any good mags there to read? I managed a rolling road session in my Volvo estate yesterday, after bodging an exhaust on to it and fixing an alternator charging issue. Then stripped down some BBS rims, and took them over to my lock-up and bolted them onto a mates 2002. Looking good. Today I popped up to see my friend Clive and saw the most ingenious rear indicator solution on his Land Rover hot rod I've witnessed in a long while. Then sized up a pair of 8x15in Cragars for my Buggy and I'm off out for a pie now... Sweeeet.

A quiet weekend here - much needed as we haven't had a relaxing weekend for AGES! Watched the Rally GB footage of course. I haven't driven a car all weekend. In fact, we've not left the village at all. It feels very odd! Especially as we drove some 1000 miles last weekend!

I hope you phoned around other tyre places before going to kwik fit. In my experience they're usually the 3rd or 4th cheapest in the area.

I pondered for 5 minutes whether or not to point out this thread was O/T. then thought fugg it, everyone else is shouting O/T so I thought id join in. Eh? Its the traditional "what did you do this weekend" thread, its aimed at car related things. And the fact that my computer is up the swanny matters to everyone that uses this place, because its slowing down the new site (again!!)... Besides as benevolten dictator(tm) I can post what I want Bryn : they only had Hello and Take a Break! (which did have the headline "My dog was having a pee and exploded" !!!! AlpineAndy,.. sadly it was the only place we could find (There is another I want to use for the Datsun tyres but couldn't find it when we went out looking today) and the tyres are at illegal levels so no time to check for others Still gave me some more time to think about tyres for the Datsun,.... 195/40 or 165/65 on my 7j rims are current faves, 2 different looks though, so got to think about it some more ... maybe one day I'll actually buy some tyres.
