Have you all gone funking insane? Why the dash are we having a discussion about pimp whelled corsas even if they are fast? Next we'll all be saxo and burberry loving  ...You do read these forums don't you...? *n ...You did notice this was about SLEEPERS didnt you....? Ok so if I said that this car had 300 bhp would it be a cool sleeper?  I think not! Fact is that if that corsa was sitting on some wide as feck steels with a faded mank paint job like the purple / blue one on the third page it would be a sleeper (what this thread is about) but as it is its just a fast gay wagon on shiny bullsh1t. |

I think your missing the point. Both of the corsa's have not been "barried" They are genuine sleepers or Q-cars. Neither shout "look how fast I am" This is a sleeper thread is it not? it isn't a rat look thread THE FIRST CORSA IS A GENUINE SLEEPER DOWN TO ITS MISSING WHEEL TRIM AND 1.5TD BADGES, NOTHING RAT ABOUT IT, JUST STRAIGHT UP COOL AS CUSTARD. BUT THE SECOND ONE IS BARRY IN THE MAKING! THERES NOT ALOT OF 'Q' FACTOR ON THOSE WHEELS AND ILL BET THE OWNERS FAVOURITE FILM IS OF THE FAST AND FURIOUS PERSUASION. IF 5 DOOR TSW BLING WEARING CORSAS IS YOUR TANG THEN COOL JUST IT DOESNT HAVE MUCH OF A SLEEPER IMAGE TO ME. P.S SORRY FOR CAPS LOCK BLAME THE BEER ;D |

Nothing like being judgemental is there? TSW? Where in the name of flying fu ckmonkeys did you get that one? Nothing wrong with a bit of OEM+ Either...The 5-door is rolling on newer Astra Sport rims and it's badged as a 1.2...It even has a 'small' tailpipe to keep it looking like any other grannywagon on the road (wheels aside...)  No different than a 5-door mkII Golf sitting on mkIII GTi rims. If the Golf had a 200bhp 16v lump it would be a sleeper. Alas, you already have your preconceptions, stereotypes and assumptions lined up...And you will continue to let them shroud your ignorance. *n PS: Sorry for the bitterness and sarcasm. I just wanted to quote this one for posterity...I think I'll put it in the wikipedia/uncyclopaedia dramatica entry for 'missing the point'... A sleeper is 'a fast car that fits in with its surroundings and appears not incongruous'. The five-door Corsa looks like a polished 5-door 1.2 on Astra wheels...Hell, it looks like 70% of all the Corsas out there. *n |

Another Ovlov. This ones running 180BHP at the wheels courtesy of a tuned 740 turbo lump   Oops,my bad. That was with the original engine. It now has this one.Still a 740,but with bigger Turbo and taken out to 2100 cc - 250 BHP at the wheels ;D  |

ok I give in. Your higher post count means that it is a sleeper then.  The blue 5 door I agree is a q car but the silver one is what I was referring to with the tsw thing. alas you'll be always be right about everything retro. my bad Your appology for bitterness and sarcasm is accepted however you cant blame poor old jim beane for your sense of self importance |

That's more like it. I have to admit that I could never call a body kitted or flashly painted Corsa etc... a sleeper as it is still trying to bring attention to itself. Plain and/or dull makes a sleeper.
That beetles tailpipe is going to give the game away. A hidden pipe with a pair of original dummy pea shooters would sort it. One of the ovlovs would need to go back to standard looking steels aswell as there are just too many modified retro cars out there now and folks are getting very suspicous of anything a little bit different.

Yeah I know what you mean. When I first saw that car this arvo I knew it had to go here. I find it funny when I see old corollas or whatever with the venetions and whitewalls and very clean, and expect to see a young bloke with some flash new motor in it before anything else, got stung yesterday with two old granny's in one, they didn't know why I was so interested in their little datsun.
