If the sun remains tomorrow, I'll tackle the front bumper and the headlight surrounds.
Thanks for all the positive vibe though, guys. I though people would hate it. Personally, I can't cope with the thought of chrome (no matter how battered) being covered up.

I'm so jealous of you for finding a 70s american car for 900 pounds and it does look sooooo much better with the rear bumper chrome

Started on the front end, but it's a bit more of a nightmare than the rear. Full update soon, though. FECKING RED OXIDE PRIMER OF AN INDUSTRIAL ILK. In the meantime have a picture of Lucie. She was instructed to press the start button and when she did - thus barking the 5.7 V8 into life - she shrieked, giggled, then ran away... Chris

Not done anything to this, as work has been far too much of late.
I have bought some ATF, but that's all. I have the Thursday before the Gathering off - it's my only day to work on it.
Talk about cutting it fine.

It sounds like we'll both be scrabbling to get these barges to RRG. I honestly can't wait to see, sit in and possibly have a go in this thing

I honestly can't wait to see, sit in and possibly have a go in this thing Bring some decent gauge copper pipe, a good pipe flaring tool, a jack and an hour of your time and you can have ALL the goes. Oh, and I think the master cylinder has gone on the brakes. YAY! What a massive heap of curse word. Chris

transit master cylinder conversion poll? that's the north wales yank barge way what do you need copper pipe for - is it leaking from the cooler lines? oh, and make sure you get dextron 2, iirc that's the right stuff for gm autoboxes - kfw

And yes, it's leaking from the cooling lines. I suspect I'm going to spend most of the Gathering working on it, not that I mind. Chris
