Spotted by chance one of my favourite wheels on an ad for a vehicle.  I don't think he knew what they were but I was like WOW.. AR Vectors, AKA, 'The wheels the General Lee had' !  Albeit, bigger, and in 5 stud, not 114 Datsun pattern. A deal was struck and the helpful chap packed them so I could get my courier to go fetch. They arrived next day and were looking sorry for themselves. I sent one away to have it media blasted, so it came back like this  back  Now the hard part. Half a day of hand sanding the machined surfaces with 240,400,800 grit paper, then autosol. Thankfully a good friend did most of it so I can't take all the credit. Bit of a difference in the shine now..  Then, wash the polish residue off, dry, and mask all the spokes and rim.  Then, etch primer, and two coats of satin black , front and rear.  Then,, the exciting part, peeling off the tape  To reveal .. its true beauty, how it would have looked 30+ years ago.  Now, just three more to do.. then wonder what I will fit them to |

Good work. They look great but I think I prefer them in their raw, unpainted but polished state. Nice though.

These are awesome wheels. They did a re-issue of these but I think they are no longer available.
The polished/cast combo looks nice actually.

OK thanks. Might have to get some of them, wonder how much they cost. Customers 120Y in today for clutch, had to hold a wheel up, would suit this car a treat I reckon!   |
