Wait wait wait wait. Is this thing really 300+BHP? 320 ish from memory Hardcore - have you had chance to see how much the light output is reduced at night with the film on - 7 series lights I've found are pretty wibblepoo at night - add in some rain and they are appauling!!!! do the springs still stay tight between platforms when the car is raised? It's really comming on well - some simple touches make a huge difference

E32 lights at night are very bad I can confirm!
This car is pure win, looking forward to seeing it at RRG.

Excellent stuff! I've never liked chrome on BMW's, DIY Shadowline trim is much nicer. Dan's work looks lovely, really taking shape now

Yep, loving where you're going with this Hardcore. This has made my window shopping for E38s widen to one of these models

Thanks for all the kind words chaps - far from done yet tho.. Just a quick update to say here's the current state of play: I seem to be adding more to the list than I'm crossing off Hope to get a bit done this weekend tho.. Also I took it to the Retro Show and, in the campsite the night before completely failed at tinting the rear lights Before: During: After: Oh dear. Bit too cold / damp for that. So I thinners'd it off and abandoned (for now ) I also failed at bringing all the important parts of a tent, but that's another story. I did learn that big 7's make pretty decent bedrooms tho.. Oh, and the answer to the question I get asked most often: Next up, coloursanding. (Hopefully. If the weather holds.)

I'd say that's quite impressive MPG! My (short lived) 535 registered an average of 19 mpg during my ownership, I'd say 23 is pretty respectable.

Love what you have done to the car. We have a '92 730i or 735i (can't remember exactly!) at the parents place in the exact same colour. Its €1,390 to tax it for a year here in Ireland so its been off the road a few years! The tax regime over here has killed the market for bigger engined cars

This is good. I like what you're doing with it.
It's the kind of thing I'd like to do rather than keep landing myself with full scale rebuilds....

I should point out that that MPG figure is from a long motorway journey with the cruise control set at 65mph, and so represents about the best it'll do - driving around town or any sort of hooning will get much, much less

Tinting (again) & colour sanding...A quick update from this weekend - not as much progress as I'd hoped as the weather has been quite unbelievable and, in the main what I had planned for the 750 required it to be outdoors.. You'll have seen from my previous post that I totally failed at tinting the orange bits of my tail lights red So here we go again.. As they were: Nicely masked up, as modeled by VIgimPy: Red tint sprayed: & re-fitted - much better ;D The 'big task' for the weekend was to colour sand the car. As I've mentioned before (as has Dan) the car is literally covered in tiny scratches, a lot of which machine polishing hasn't removed. Some of them are deeper and you can actually feel them with your finger, so will unlikely ever come out (tho may be improved somewhat) but a majority of them you can't so 'should' come out.. Neither of us had done this before so we proceeded with care, first testing a panel on the dented wing.. Before: Then after wet sanding (with a mixture of 1500, 2000 & 2500 grit), machine polishing with coarser then fine grade, then hand polishing, it looks like this: EPIC WIN. Obviously to do this over the whole car would take days, so the major 'problem areas' are targeted - firstly the bonnet, easily the worst bit.. Lots of sanding (like hours, between fekking rain ) Makes it look like this. Terrible. Ratlook matte bonnet FTL. To be fair, Dan did a lot more of this than I did - I'm STILL welding up his Honda. Not the most productive weekend we've ever had unfortunately. Anyway, the tools of the polishing trade were once again employed.. ..to get you to here: (pic taken today cause I didn't get one at the time cos it barely stopped raining [/rant])Then at work today this happened *facepalm* LOL! Up next, er, dunno. But these arrived today, so probably that
