Hi all, Just a quick post for those of you interested. I have a Volvo P1800S 1964' It's the early type with Cow-Bumpers. It has been Sat in my shed for over 20 years... It could have easily gone back on the road with only minor work had it not been for my mother Who decided she wanted to 'Restore it'. I got the engine going which was easy to say the least, fresh fuel and she was away! Drove it out of the shed and the Restoration began! It has been a rather 'cut-price' Restoration as my mum plans to use it as her Daily, though I'm not too happy with the overall finish... She's filled most of the bodywork with filler and fiberglass to make it look good then It's had a cheap spray job. We are just in the middle of putting it all back together now... They are beautiful cars but we are missing a few parts... But first Some Pictures! Early on in the Restoration... I'll get some more pictures as soon as I can... Parts needed to get it on the Road: ~New Fuel Pump [Mechanical] ~New Rear Light Lenses... ~ Interior Lights If anyone has any parts that they could contribute I would be most grateful... Cheers Ben

Yeah, the really tricky thing is finding rear light lenses... [Affordable ones] I can imagine it will be on the road with a little bit of tinkering... 1800cc Twincarb B18

Quick update, The car has been in my 'Temporary Spray-Booth' for almost a year now... It's slowly getting put back together... Today I fitted a new fuel pump and Fuel Pipes, Took a few pictures and got it running... Still runs sweet after 22 years of not being driven or started! Anyway some pics! Shiny New Fuel Pump!! ;D Untouched for 20 years B18, Runs sweetly! I have yet to see an interior which rivals this in anyway, how Retro! Back end waiting for the bumpers and Light lenses, Can't find Lenses anywhere HELP Front lights in with new chrome bezels.. Cheers!

Love the shape of these cars, had a vision buying a P1800 once, got as far as looking at one once looked spot on in black until I got up close a realised it was rotten as a pear under the shiny paintwork. Wanted to make one pillerless and do a few other mods

Man your car is giving me some serious interior envy! Everything about that cabin is just awesome, the dash, the dials the wheels, - I love my Saab 900 but the interior completely lacks any pzazz by comparison to yours, I just wish Volvo 1800s were a bit more in my price range / a bit more rust proof or I'd have one in a heartbeat!

Hi mate, I was after a lens with Amber and Red, Preferably not the £100 eBay ones... Can't believe they are so expensive! Cheers for the interest!

fair enough, just posted that one as it was cheap and figured it would at least get you roadworthy if nothin else... its interesting, with no bumper or grille inserts at first glance your car puts me more in mind of an old Ferrari 250 than a volvo I think if it were my car I'd be tempted to leave all the chrome bumpers amd trim off, bang it on some chrome wire wheels and drop a T5 850 engine under the bonnet

Sounds like a great project. An unfinished car can look amazing when you start filling in details in your head, especially when so many cars have horrible detailing (not these though). I admit to having wild ideas for the rear lamp lenses too; chopped up plastic wine glass cones over each globe, glued to a cut acrylic base before painting with clear red, with green globes at indicators so they still shine orange.

Ah yes, Well spotted, They were a matching Pair for my mother & Aunt... The second one has a brand new engine but is rotten beyond economic repair... It's being kept for un-obtainable parts such as window glass ETC...

You can pick up a reasonable one for about £5000. For £10,000 a nice early one... I would try and get the nicest oldest one I could afford as these are a timeless, usable gorgeous classic!

Both of mine are Early ones, I think 1964' Although I would have thought earlier as they both have the desirable Bull-horn bumpers & the Chrome side trim follows the line of the doors which is much better than the straight ones... I have a feeling that both of mine are the Earlier Jensen models that were Registered at a later date...The original 3 letter 3 number plates were sold back in the 80's apparently... Due to their desirability

Quick update on the Volvo, After putting a new Fuel Pump and Fuel Pipes on, The Volvo Fired up! It's had to be moved out of it's temporary 'garage' because it doubles up as a hay shed... Anyway It's covered up in the yard ready for work to commence! Though IT was difficult to move as the gearbox needed freeing off. I'll get some pictures of the whole car re-assembled soon!
