Ive been roaming around for a while so figured now i have something a bit retro ill join in If anyone has any history on this car please let me know as i would love to know more I brought him in Feb, hes had a respray late last year in the original colour. I was told he had been stored for a few years and all that had been done was a respray and it flew through the MOT. Had an LW MW radio which has since been replaced with a blanking plate and an amp under the seat with an ipod attached. Original speaker has been replaced with a good one. Wheels are coming off in favour of some Steels with caps (tyres are on order so hopefully in a week) got a little bubbling on the arch i will sort soon as and few imperfections here and there which i will sort in time. Service went well oil was decent anyway and coolant was new by the looks of it but changed anyway heres some pics Speaker Upgrade ;D AMP Kept the original Grill and only one speaker Shot of the Great paintjob Interior is tired but good And the other halfs Chevette with mine Plans: Exhaust backbox is going for a straight pipe as rusted and hard to get hold of. Spark Plugs are in the shed to be done soon. Rads being lowered an inch to attempt to improve cooling for winter Few paint touchups when i find some paint (HELP!!) lowering 40mm maybe 60mm. And spacing out the rear. Brake Overhall Some epic cleaning before Billing YEAHHH Oh and wheels

That is lovely! Much cleaner than mine lol, the wheels should look sweet especially if you space them out a bit.

Thanks Yeah I'm gonna space the rears but not too sure about the fronts due to rubbing and lowering. (brought some springs so shouldnt be to long now. tyres on the front will be 155 rears are 175 so waiting to buy spacers to see how much ill need. Also moving the battery to the boot and washer bottle to the front of the engine bay to stop the rust forming in there Since this ive cleaned up a bit but i want the engine bay to be clean too.

Yeah I'm gonna space the rears but not too sure about the fronts due to rubbing and lowering. I wouldn't worry to much about the fronts rubbing, mine is very low, the previous owner mentioning no names ;D basically cut the springs in half by the looks of it. I'm running zero offset 7x13" wheels with 145/70's, the front arches are standard and I only get rubbing on full lock. So I'd imagine you'd get away with spacing the fronts out quite a bit before you run into any problems.

Few paint touchups when I find some paint (HELP!!) If your paint is an original colour the paint code should be on the plate under the bonnet. This is mine..... .....2BB is the colour on my Chevette which turned out to be Crystal Blue, I got a can mixed at Halfords which was a pretty good match considering the car is several different shades anyway.

Assuming your car's mainly one shade , I'd strongly recommend finding a local independent paint supplier. My local one is actually cheaper than Halfords, and won't sell the mix until they've tested it against the car.

Yeah we have a few paint shops local so I'm gonna go there and sort. Noticed just the golden shade of rust near my washer bottle so ive got a Tudor bottle ordered and ill be moving the washer bottle out of the way the weekend. My Paint code should be 15L (Smoke Blue) i THINK

That looks mint. I love the smoke blue, my mk1 astra the same colour (and age) I had a problem when I got paint mixed up for a door last year because I just took the code in and didn't realise how much my car had faded in 30 yrs! I'll have to have a closer look at this at Billing, see you there.

So today got a semi decent day, Got tyres mounted and stuck em on Also changed over the washer bottle setup and managed to have a better look at the rust underneath, luckly not that bad. Unfortunaly springs aint here yet and as its just been jacked to put the wheels on it looks like its on stilts. seems wont be much room for spacing once the cars a little lower Heres some pics Wheels Old washer bottle Now New setup

Lovely! This is by far the best colour for a Chevette and yours is in great condition. The steel wheels look perfect. I like Chevettes, they're good looking cars.
