Lastly my little helper.

Other jobs including looking a the dodgey fuel sender, witch turns out the printed circuit has pilled off, so still looking for a replacement! So while I was there , I wanted to protect the surface areas, but on the whole its very solid and rust free on the underside, due to the coating of wax its had, but that partly where the problem lies, I painted over some of the wax not realised it was, because its dry. So not sure what to do about that yet!

So a few more pics of the n/s inner wing fitted up, while I was there I noticed the coil was cracked, so replaced it with a spare, I cleaned the top mount up and put caps on them and touched up a few bits. Next on the list is to paint the rocket , but not sure on colour? Also was gonna fit a K@N, but not sure as the damp wheather is looming anybody else run them in the winter months any tips to get around the carb freeze problem, was gonna try make a warm air feed. I also need a manifold heatshield if anybody has one? Lastly anybody got a thermostate housing because mine leakes, was thinking of changing it for a mk1/2 fiesta type or see how its done on the later escorts, cos I reckon a good one is gonna be hard to come by and it looks funny lol

I would realy appreciate peoples comments/ impute good or bad! I want ideas for running a K@N, thermostate options and colour to do the rocker?

I would have to change to a different radiator or expansion bottle so I can top up the coolant, so having bin looking at mk1/2 fiesta set ups and will loook into later escort ones.

Might paint it green when I paint the wing and front panel, will the paint be ok with the heat though?

What colour and model was yours, hard to find good 3doors now, was it a fun first car?

So keith H, send me a later stat housing and manifold, with heat shield, which I needed as mines missing and it helps the carb get up to temp. The later manifold is alot better than my early design, which has a flexi join and had led to the exhaust melting the gear linkage housing over the years, so this will be a welcome upgrade as and when I can get the correct exhaust to fit it. Ive never liked the stat arrangment on mine and plus its leaks, so will hopefully uograde the collant sytem to suit the new stat housing, once I know whats needed? Both mani and stat lend themselves to mk2 fiesta bits, witch were revised from the mk1 fiesta so definite improvements!

Lastly what other gear linkages car I use, as ive seen puma ones being fitted, was thinking mk4 escort or later fiesta (more readily available in the local scrappy!), are there any benefits to upgrading?! Lastly ive got some 88 spe recaros I'm currently welding the bases on, was thinking of fitting, but kinda like the standard seats, what are peoples opinions, thanks for reading my boring diary lol
