I've followed your Wedge loaded adventures on another forum with great interest and have been very impressed with your work. It was a huge learning curve for you and that kind of experience is invaluable.
The polo is a car that you know inside out. It has been with you for 12 years. I have never had a car that long!!! I know finances are limited but just take your time and buy stuff as and when. You can do bits on the polo that won't cost much/anything and when you get bored, just stop and do something else. Come back to the Polo when you feel able to do so. To get rid would be a shame and I do think you would regret it hugely. I have a Triumph 1300 that has just sat there for several months (actually 10 months) without any real use. It is now in the garage getting stripped down for a resto session. If I were to sell it (I have been very tempted), I would instantly regret it and I have no money to buy another Triumph even half as good.
That said, it is your car and your choice. Just think long and hard before you make any decision.
All the best.
