Went to the southend car meet, loadsa pics

Seeing as the rocket was a hit on open farm day I treated it to a smoke machine off the Facebook marketplace. Then it was time to get back on the mini. The dash is orange which although not my favourite colour, I thought I'd start matching up the interior lighting. Footwells done and it's the boot one next. Roof aerial thing was reapplied with some better m3 tape and the stone chipped front bumper got a " done at work" special smart repair. Even tidied up the rotten tractor steering wheel at the farm and spent a couple of hours topping the field in the battered massey too.... When it wasn't breaking down. Turned out there was water in the fuel filter. All sorted now. Even had time to add some details to the sketchy R2d2 that i started making after selling the elephant and pig planters.Fitted the end caps to the grannies roof rack too..... Mr2s sills next on the list after I sort the flooded shower room and rotted floor😩

The cover for the battered steering wheel arrived yesterday.... Gotta live Ali express. Buy stuff..... Forget you bought it and one day it arrives and it's like a surprise present from china

then ill try to avoid seting it off.thought the airbag fired the centre part off out the way if it deployed.....and to be fair, the cover is made in china.....and we all now they're safety mad..

So as if being at work all day wasn't enough.... My son decided we were driving to Halesowen outside Birmingham last night. brand new second hand bonnet now indoors awaiting finishing and fitting to the mr2.... So damn tired tho

So I dremelled the washer jets out after removing the jets from the project car just to make sure they fitted right on the daily. What would I describe the fitment as..... 🤔 If I'm 100% honest I'd rate it up there with granada pattern part wings........ It's OK.

Put the endies onto the roof rack during the week too. Really need 2 rubber feet things for the mounting clips if anyone knows where I can source a pair.

Is the ra ra the Micra?
If so, I'd do nothing to it bodywise with that paint colour.
Any wrap will ruin it

Interior panels off, hammer and dolly the dents out
Its a beginners car, I'd worry about the service history and brakes more than a few exterior blemishes

So seeing as the mini is getting close to 25 years old I thought I'd pay some attention. There was a rattling sound when turning which was wierd. A quick look underneath showed the rear exhaust hanger rubber had failed. To be fair it was on the last mot but it was my sons car then and I forgot. We had the rubber indoors so that was an easy fix. While under the car I noticed a bit of scabbiness so I'll rust convert the entire underside before the winter to keep things protected.
Next up was the tango interior. I saw a merc that had ambient lighting around the dash..... So put me an orange one in. Then there was the rear speakers.the stereo isn't much so I dragged my 80s bnib harvard down from the loft. They were the smaller model ones but were still too big. The rear shelf is rubbish too and sits wierd. So I split the speakers and made me a parcel shelf.

The rev counters being a pleb at the moment too and the led bit looks like Mr Messy..... So I've ordered a new one.
