how old is the term "jdm arches"? I remember having seen universal wide arches in tuning catalogues of the 80s, so why should they only be used on japanese cars, just because of some marketing term? I have to agree with this....even though you see them on a lot of Japanese cars, they aren't/weren't unique to that country. Labelling them as JDM is a bit like calling BBS RS wheels 'VW Golf look' just because they get seen mostly on that car (not a cold hard fact, more a way of illustrating the point) As an example: OMG...SO JDM Mini Bro! Different style, but 'bolt on' just the same: Dolly in 'copycat JDM style' arch shocker! These definitely did not originate in the Land of the Rising Sun: More DTM than JDM in some cases.... Best use of Ranger Bob arches I've seen yet....Bryn's mega cool MGB:

Holy curse word Copey, that looks great. And you beat me to it! Sh!t!
Now for every person who tells me the arches I have won't suit the Capri, I'll point them towards this thread.
Awesome.

I've seen a few people mention they're thinking of it but you're the first I've seen to actually fit them. I'm glad I've seen them fitted now too, because enough people were telling me it wouldn't look right that I almost believed them.
I can't believe I've had mine since bloody September last year and still haven't got them on... You've well and truly inspired me to get my ar$e in gear!

I actually think that "JDM" arches are noticeably different to e.g. group x Mini arches, or the various german bodykits. None of the others have quite the same tapering-in at the ends, or the symmetry overall. Maybe just me though...

No you are right,.. a bunch of stuff posted in here are cars with Arches,.. not JDM (style) arches, they are a different look... it is like saying a bubble arches Mk1 Ford has the same arches as this : Which isn't true. Bognor knows whats up though.

I'm not sure if these are 100% JDM arches, but I think they look sooooo good on this little Fiat.
