Yello chaps, I've been running around in a bargaintastic £60 2 door k10 (1.2 5 speed with a CLOCK!) for about 6 months now as a 'spare' car (read sensible runabout for the days the Capri decides it prefers to sulk and stare at the back of the garage door - oh like at the moment for instance. Needless to say I've racked up a few miles in it! Its only got 49000 miles on it, had a lot less when I got it! It has a nice bit of crash damage at the front from the previous owner preferring to use other motorists instead of the brakes - it also has a fair bit of baboon related damage from out recent jolly to the safari park
I have recently given it a good old sevice (oo -err) and changed the brake pads as well as a bit of welding on the exhaust for its MOT but other than that its been a rather excellent - if massively boring - daily. I wish to have more enjoyment out of it! It handles like a cow on stilts but doesnt look quite as good - I'm thinking of getting the magic lowering appliance out and sorting out some droppage however (and here is the boring bit) it needs to remain reliable, cheap and happy to accept 5 people and or a tip load of curse word.
How many coils have you K10 enthusiastics removed from said beasts? And do you have any pics?
A few cool ones from the net (and here!)
Also, are the prefacelift front ends interchangeable with the facelift? I don't like its happy little face (although the crash damage makes it look a bit more puzzled than happy) I prefer the more sullen look of the prefacelift.
Wheels! 4X100 I know, very common etc.. but I tried some MX5 wheels on and the centre bore is too small. I'm thinking of getting some wheels that cost pennies that will make a subtle difference, bigger steels for example, any tips?
