At present it's a bog standard 1600s with just over 50K on the clock. It looks great as is. It always turn heads and they're getting bloody rare as standard cars. Especially the base model 1600s Thing is, it's slow and getting a bit rattly. So do I... A) Spend a bit of time on it and get it back to it's former glory of 34 years ago? B) Go for the sleeper (now known as " Hot Snot" and replace the original pig iron lump, slam it and drop in a 5-speed? C) Black Magic it? Replica of a special edition released only in Germany. This would involve a nice paint job as per pics, 2.0i GT/E lump and 5-speed with period recaro's etc Pics of it now and a couple of Black Magic images here...

Option B would be my choice, go for "the sleeper".

Sleeper.
Subtle mods like loosing the door handles and badges and a single/hidden headlight conversion would work really well on that too.

C20LET and Carlton 5-speed.
Sleeper = win.

A bit of slammage and an engine transplant wouldn't ruin the lines of the car IMO. It would still look the same, just g would also be able to enjoy it.

If it was mine I think a modest engine swap (maybe a 2.0CiH) with a five speed, loose no more than an inch from the height and keep the rest standard.

Anyone got any Motovation or similar style custom concept sketches of Manta As? Yes, but I think nowadays they'd be a good suggestion as to what not to do.... Think there's been some Pro Street type ones too, these are just what I had scanned in. IMO, keep it simple - it's such a great shape (probably my favourite) that wheels, paint and stance are all it needs, and engine to suit your wants.

If you're going to mod it, then Black Magic all the way! I think that photoshop thing with the full width grill and no handles would ruin the looks.

How about a Vauxhall V6? That's been done before and is apparently a scary bit of kit (in a good way).
Or just give it to me. I'll swap my 2.9 Cosworth Cortina sleeper for it.
