Thoroughly enjoying the updates on this thread. Giving me loads of ideas to steal for mine.
I just assumed Renault 21 brakes would be 4x100 pcd. Interesting to know they're not!

The renault discs are 4x100, but the pcd of the hub where the disc bolts in is 4x94 so you just need to remove a bit of material on the inside of each hole to get them to bolt up!

So after a serious amount of faff which involved driving from coventry to swindon to oxford back to swindon then to bedford I finally arrived whit these bad boys! are you a fellow coventry kid then? ;D cars looking awesome!

coolest mk3 I've seen that's for sure. love the presence it has, it's got a real muscle car look about it! If you're based in coventry then maybe our paths will cross one day, I'm based in northamptonshire.

Based in Bedfordshire but commute up cov way (Leamington spa) every day (Loooooooooong....) so the cortina might make the odd trip but judging by the amount of fuel it uses not very often!! In far more important news SHES ON THE ROAD!!! Had the MOT on friday (no advisories!) and had it on the rolling road today to get the final tune. Apart from running out of fuel (dyno makes it guzzle!) there were no problems! Nohing exploded, no bangs nada! The results?: 171Hp 220Nm of Torque! Pretty pleased with that, kinda what I was expecting but now it drives sooooo much smoother and revs much nicer! PM me if anyone wants the rolling road in Milton Keynes, he knows his stuff!!

Wow, 171hp! Thats rather mental on a car that weights short of one ton, i bet its bags of fun. I understand the doubts of being able to roll it that low, but truly if you tuck the exhaust nicely there wont be much stuff draggin. Before i swapped the driveshaft mid-bearing and rubber bushing i could drive as low as i wanted without snappin the pinion U-joint, as the rubber was torn and allowed a severe propshaft angle, and my usual height was about 2" from the lower point (subframe). Roads around here are as curse word as in the UK, so i guarantee you that you can leave it like on those pics were its pretty much slammed w/ no issues, xcept a few dragmarks on the rails once in a while What size are the wheels anyway? I take it 15s? If so that is the only thing that seems to prevent you from being able to do so. But anyway, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing in any way, thumbs up for the mag feat and the awesome work. Maybe the feature will push someone else to drop a TC on its nuts with proper suspension. ACE build :thumbsup:

Cheers guys! yea its pretty lively but I still think it needs more...currently reasearching superchargers as i don't want to ruin it with turbo lag!
As for lows id realy like it they way it is in the previous photos (with the flat tyres but there are a few reasons why I cant: As you said the 15s are preventing me going much lower, they are just wide enough so i can squeeze them under the arches but not fully inside so need to leave a bit of clearance for suspension travel etc. Also the centre boxes in the exhaust are a bit low so would catch and I'm not that keen on wrecking them cos its a custom system! Finally I'm already at the limit of the ball joint travel at the front so much lower and it would start to hit the end of their travel and possibly snap...not a place I want to be!
Suspension plans will continue! I want to make some adjustable upper wishbones for the front so I can adjust the camber and also put some sort of rose joint in the front tension struts. The angle they are at multiplies he forces massively so there is a fair bit of movement due to the HUGE bush there! This wont happen for a while though! its on the road for the summer now so ill be driving it as much as possible!!

A lot of cool stuff going on under there mate have you had a look at a pair of Locost upper wishbones for adjustability ? no sure if the inner mounts are spaced correctly for the cortina Cmember though

I did a small research for ball joints with more reach, but its a hell of a mission since no auto parts store was willing to look at catalogs looking for measures rather than codes. So i stopped. But yeah, i snapped 2 pairs but always changed them before they broke loose. Price to pay for lows i guess. I'm goin to try again further down the year. I also looked at shortening the upper arm but i sorta remember not doin it cause it is already at the limit, meanin that if it was any shorter it would touch the Shock/coil upper turret. That is provided you already cut the bumpstop cause if not maybe you can. But yeah, everything is so thight fit under there its a massive work. Again, this is one of mny favorite threads on the whole web!
